Re: BaltimOrioles Sidney: not the answer

I would have to agree with you there. Right now is not the time to spend the
rest of the money that we have. We should try and give our farm system pitchers
a chance. Matt Riley and John Parrish could be good starters for the 4th or 5th
role. Here's what I'm thinking to be the rotation:

1. Ponson
2. Ainsworth
3. Lopez
4. Daal
5. Riley

Honestly, I'm going to make a prediction. Maybe not this year, or next year
even, but within the next few years, I really think this team's pitching has the
potential to become as good as the Cubs are set up. The Cubs pitching is young,
swallows a lot of innings and can post strikeouts. Hopefully we will have the
right coach to do this but I think the pitching will be excellent.

Orioles will need to look for a trade. But no bloclbuster deal. We know Ponson
is best suited as a #2 guy. Millwood got 11 million and he has a HIGH ERA. The
deal is on the table for MAddux with several teams. I doubut he will come here
but its there. There just was not many good picthers out there. All these guys
are no better than Rick Helling. I do thinl we have some young guns that are
ready for the 4 and 5 spot. You guys will have to be patient witht them.

is pretty much empty now depleted. If you look at who is available, you'll see
that there are some players that may help but not a sure thing. Here are some
that could help:

Andy Ashby
Pedro Astacio (He's hurt now but he would be a good midseason pick up when he's
healthy)
John Burkett
Orlando Hernandez (base on reports he seems to be at 90% but would still be good
to have)

Anybody have any idea who they are looking to sign to help the
pitching situation???
