The Orioles have officially re-signed Kevin Millar to a one-year
contract with an option for the 2008 season.
Millar, 35, batted .272 with 15 home runs and 64 RBIs in 132 games
in 2006. He finished second on the club with a .374 on-base
percentage and hit .303 after July 1.
Millar is a .287 lifetime hitter with 126 career home runs in nine
major league seasons. Before signing as a free agent with the
Orioles last year, he spent the previous three seasons with the
Boston Red Sox. Millar spent five years with the Florida Marlins
before that.
Meanwhile, the Orioles have sent pitchers Brian Finch and Cory
Morris to Triple-A.
Finch went 6-12 with a 3.65 ERA at Double-A Bowie this past season.
Morris, who spent three days with the Orioles in April without
appearing in a game, went 2-9 with a 3.81 in the minor leagues last
season
