Bakerview BMX is Racing this weekend Sept. 23 & 24th ... signups,
same as usual ... 2:00 to 3:00
Although McCollum Park's website is not up to date as of today ...
I'm pretty sure they are racing as well. Signup's 10:00 to 11:00
Bakerview's previously scheduled race of Saturday, Sept.30th ... is
cancelled ... see you down south.
Sept. 30th ... last big event's of the outdoor season
McCollum Park, double point race ... 10:00 to 11:00
SeaTac BMX, single point race ... 1:30 to 2:30
River Valley, double point race ... 5:00 to 5:30
Bakerview BMX Sunday Oct. 1st, single point ... 2:00 to 3:00
Bakerview's Horizon ... the present location has been a great
facility... but we have simply outgrown our confine's ... 3 Season's
ago our local race moto count's averaged 3, 2 Season's ago 6 ...
this Season on average 10 moto's ( excluding the SCR's ).
Older Classes ( I & X ) and Cruiser, with full or almost full gates
make the small, narrow course a challenge, but not necessarily in a
good way.
A big Race like our SCR with an average of 43 Moto's, 220 racer's
plus parent's, pit crew and spectator's ... let's just say we are
packed in like Sardines !
I want a bigger track, you want a bigger track ... proof is in the
pudding ... start writing ... & bring your letter to the Track ...
this weekend.

I e-mailed my letter over from the last e-mail I got so I will send it again sorry I sent it from work. It's saved on my computer at work so I will re send my letter on Monday since I won't be at work tomorrow. Also my Daughter and Son both wrote a letter and made a drawing of the track so I will either scan it or mail that from my kids Christian and Courtney.
Thanks,

What happened to those of you wanting a new track? And those of you who said you were writing your letters?
To date I have very nice letters from Bob Burgess & Family, William Burd & Mitchell Partridge & our family.
Only 4 of us want a new track?
PLEASE write your letter, get another racer who isn't part of this on- line group to write a letter. You do not have to be a Bakerview BMX home member to send me a letter. Send it to me at 19908 Hill Vue Place, Burlington WA 98233. Or come by the house and drop it off.
I promise it won't kill you....I plan to be done with the proposal by the end of SEPT. that means you still have time to get me a letter.
One of the comissioner guys was at our track last Sat. to check us out.
If you need help writing your letter let me know 757-0761. "Dirty Burd" & "Mass Air" did a great job all by them selves for the young adults they are. Their english t
eachers would be so very proud if they only knew. Bob & children wrote a nice family letter which they all signed.

I sometimes forget myself....LOL... Thanks for letting me know. How about if we say sometime before school starts, like Labor Day weekend.
For those who may be stuck as what to write about, remember it doesn't have to be very long. Think of this similar to writing to a potential sponsor. Why should Skagit county want you and the awesome BMX community you are a part of, what makes us so special to be given our own park? (remember you are selling yourself and bmx, not asking for a park in your letter) Include good grades at school, awards, other community groups you belong to that make a difference, etc. ....leave out any jail time.. LOL. Please sign your letters.....
You can also send it directly to me. Our address is:

on our letter this week.

Good morning all!
Craig and I are working on the proposal for getting a bigger and
better bmx park for Skagit County. We have already informally talked
with all 'right' people - who are very excited to hear from us
formally.
a few things:
First, those of you seriously wanting to be a part of the proposal
process and making this happen with your time and ideas & research.
Please contact me with a phone number to reach you. Any age rider is
welcome to help out with this part! I will set up a meeting for us
all to share and learn what we need done.
Second, I would like to hear from all riders in letter form as to what
Bakerview BMX means to them and their family and why it is important
to our community. (Please try to keep anything negative about our
situation or any 'begging' for a new track out.)
Little riders: crayons & pictures are okay or dictation from child to
parent works too!
Single page and to the point is best. Remember to include your name,
address, contact info and plate number on your letter.
These letters will be included in the presentation to the county.
Please turn these in at the track ASAP.
Third, any and all ideas you may have or just your point of view, or
if you are from another track and have lots of help for me....please
tell me quick...
Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Big Weekend!

Registration for McCollum will be 9:00-11:00am
River Valley registration 4:30 - 5:30
River Valley will be at McCollum Park with registration for their
afternoon SCR race and their Sunday RCQ @ 9:00-11:00am
RCQ Sunday August 13th at River Valley. Registration 10:00 -
11:00am
700 point weekend! Or, you could race at River Valley Wednesday and
Friday, throw in SeaTac or Bakerview on Thursday and make it 1000!!
And if the point are not enough.....
THE TROPHY DASH IS BACK!!
Trophy dash? What's a trophy dash? If you are in your teens, you
may not have been around when local tracks would run this type of
main event. The winners of the older expert classes would line up
together and have one final run of the day. Younger guys, who seldom
got the opportunity to race the older riders, had the chance to show
they could hang with the big boys. And many times, did more than
just hang!
Well boys, sharpen your elbows. The last main event at McCollum's
August 12th SCR will be the TROPHY DASH, and PRYME protective gear
is kicking in a little something for the podium.
1st – PRYME CARBON FIBER PRO EVIL HELMET
2nd – PRYME All black DEM BONES GLOVES
3rd – PRYME STRETCH-FIT HAT PRYME
Here is how it will go down…
The seven winners of the classes listed below, will go head to head.
Gate assignments will be drawn randomly out of a hat.
· 14X
· 15X
· 16X
· 17-18X
· 19-27X
· 28-35X
· 36 and over X

Just one more note about the photos.....
The photos I post on this group have been formatted in a lower
resolution for faster loading. This makes them perfect for sharing
via email and the web. They may not produce the best quality if you
print them out.
The original photos, in extremely fine resolution, are what I burn
to disc and will make the best prints for even 8 x 10 or poster size
prints.
If you would like me to email an original high resolution photo of
your child for bragging purposes,
If you have any questions,
Or if you need help uploading your own photos to this site
Just send me a message or call.

Hello everyone!
Great job in the heat this afternoon! I just posted SOME of the
photos taken today (Sunday, July 23).
If you are new and/or I labeled you wrong please let me know. Later
August I will make a disc with several races included. If your child
is new just have them come tell me to take their photo.
For all previous photos posted (march-july 15th), I have burned copies
to disc ~ see me if you did not get one. The disc includes races at
Langley, Yakima, River Valley, Bakerview, Sea-Tac, McCullum.
See you this week!

Just a quick reminder that Langley is doing 3 double pointers this weekend. Friday night is a RFL double pointer, Saturday afternoon is a Earned Double and Sunday morning is their PCR double. Come up and stay the weekend, everyone seemed to like the track for the national, so come on up for one of the races or all three.
Then you can hit Bakerview on the way home on Sunday afternoon and make it 700 points up for grabs. Check out Bakerview before their upcoming SCR. I hear the track is in great shape after a couple good work parties.
