A part of the team showed up for a rainy ride from
central Alabama to Ellijay, Georgia and back totaling
about 509mi with an allowable max time of 48hrs.
Killer John Schlitter continued his strong riding and
this year was the first finisher at 33hrs and change
for the 509 mi. There were at least 3 in the crew
manning the team van. This was a prep ride for RAAM
which John apparently plans to do this summer. It rained
off and on through the first 24hrs finally clearing for
the last push. John did the first 300 miles in about 15hrs
and took a break before finishing the last 200 miles.
A google on Heart of the South will bring up the web page
and a formal writeup of the event is due later this week.
Promoter claims 30,000' of climbing over the course.
