Tires

I confess to ignorance regarding tire selection for my Strada. I have
taken several spills on wet roads recently and finally picked up a huge
screw through a sidewall this weekend. My riding partner looked at the
tire and told me I was past due for new ones. The tires on the bike
are Prino Racer 20 X 559. I looked them up on line and found a bunch
of entries for wheelchair tires. I did some additional research and
think I found that I can use 26 X 1 tires also as a replacement. I
started to look at Continental Grand Prix tires because they are
supposed to be good for wet weather riding, but thier sizes confuse
me. Can someone please get me straight on this?

Dean

In general, any 23-28 width tire with a 559 diameter will fit your bike. You can probably go up to 38-wide (1-1/2) on some bikes, but with the caliper brakes...
