You're certainly in the ballpark already. The classic bullseye load is 4.0
of Bullseye powder under a 200 grain LSWC. That's the load everything else
is compared to. I know guys who shoot high master scores with nothing but
that load. I'm presently using 3.9 to 4.1 of Clays, haven't really decided
yet. I personally haven't had as much luck with the 185 grain versions, but
others certainly have. Look for a crimp diameter of about .469 with no
bulging under the crimped part. IOW, not much crimp at all, more to just
turn back any belling of the case mouth.

Subject: [BULLSEYESHOOTERS] Reload for .45
I am open to suggestions when it comes to reloading .45 for Bullseye
Shooting. I am currently using Winchester 231 using 200 Grn SWC and
I am using a charge of 4.4 grns with a light spring. Does anyone
have another possible charge to recommend? Or What about using 185
SWC? Does it really may much of a difference in accuracy? Also is
there anything I should watch for or do with the crimp?
This is what happens when you are new to something.. you ask
questions. RIGHT?
