Thanks, Jim. I appreciate the information.
I note you are with the Pittsburgh PD. I am retired from the PD in Gates, NY, a
suburb of Rochester. I had to retire due to being assaulted on a family trouble
call. Fortunately, I had my 20 yrs. in, so I got my pension..
I now live in Milton, PA (near Lewisburg) and I am the Coordinator for the
Criminal Justice Advisory Boards (CJAB) in the 17th Judicial District of PA
(Union and Snyder Counties).
45's forever,

I like bullseye, it is dirty but I use 5 grains of bullseye for this
round. It is easy on the gun with some power, it won't beat the gun up and it
is very accurate.
5 grains of bullseye is nearly universal for me. 5.5 for the 225 grain hollow
point is chronographing out of my Kimber SM2 at 825FPS. I have tried 6 grains
at 960 but it was a little hard on the gun. So I stick with the fun to shoot
rounds. If you stay with 5 grains of bullseye in your round you should get
reliable action with very good accuracy. Remember to clean you gun after
everyshoot because bullseye is dirty.
Hope this helps,
Sergeant James Vogel
Pittsburgh Police
Zone 2.

I want to handload for my Colt 1911, .45ACP. Someone gave me a large coffee can
full of 220 grain lead semi-wadcutter bullets,(all sized and lubed) and two
unopened pound cans of Bullseye powder. Can anybody suggest a powder charge that
they have had success with, using Bullseye powder and this kind of bullet?
