Last night I got some good groups. I used a rubber molded forend
rest [Millett] and rested just the tip of the muzzle end bbl weight
on it, let my strong hand float with the grip and supported my
forearm with my off-side fist. A little wobbly but I shot 3 good 5
shot groups at 25 yards; not perfect but much much more consistent
than anything I have done so far. Found the zero was off high
right, after adjusting I shot a few strings offhand and was able to
shoot with confidence including calling flyers, etc.

The GSP does seem to be fairly unforgiving in terms of follow
through, etc and can yield surprises in wrong-called shots, etc. I
think I just need more practice to get the feel down - now that I
have confidence in both gun and ammo that will get much easier.

FYI one of my buddies also said he had trouble with the GSP off of a
rest; I think the unique recoil characteristics of this gun makes it
finicky that way.

Done with zeroing now, time for a few hundred rounds of NM courses
at the 50 ft match line.

FYI I am loading 90 gr HBWC with 1.4 gr VV310.
