Re: [BULLSEYESHOOTERS] 45 ACP vs 45 Auto Rim in S&W 25-2

I second that.....never really had a problem loading
full clips by hand and with a variety of unloading
tools available, removal is not a problem either.

I have a 1989 625 with a 3" barrel in .45 acp. This is
what I call my ultimate home defense gun; wife says
the same thing, although, she calls it wrapping her
little hands around the beast.

First two rounds are rat (bad guy) shot followed by
four rounds 230 Gr. hydra shock hollow points. If I
need 6 more (unlikely) then I have a clip of ball
ammo. Reloads in a plink of an eye, even in the dark.

For diversity (ammo and users)the .45 revolvers are
the best.

Any opinions/experiences out there re: using 45 AR instead of 45acp w/moonclips in the 25-2? I love using this old behemoth, (great trigger), but the clips are...

From a reloading perspective, 45AR is certainly viable. even if the brass is scarce. If the only reason for you doing so is the clips, you need to use the...

Yes, the clips and thier loading & unloading are the reasons for my looking at the 45 AR as an alternative. I have a TK re-mooner and thier de-mooner (much...

I use the rimmed cases all the time. Mooning-demooning tools, I got all of them. I prefer the rimmed in bullseye matches. Speed loaders are nice if they...

Jack this is not directed at You, but the people will know who they are. Is this some kind of game. The questions that I see on Bullseye, a few days later show...

Bill There are lots of people who'd rather devote their energy to asking questions than doing the hard work of trying things out. Maybe they think they'll get...

I think it would still be easier to just buy more clips than having to maintain another caliber. There are also the polymer Beckham clips which don't require...

Jeff: Do you use your revolver in Bullseye competition? I ask because I've posted a few questions here about the use of revolvers and would welcome your...

Ned, I recently relocated from N.Cal to south central Cal (Bakersfield). I was part of an informal Bulleye/PPC league in the SF-Bay Area. We shot rimfire...

Jeff: California Competition Works also has a neat little item called the "Shoot A Moon" that acts as a 'speedloader belt holder' for moon clipped ammo. Check...
