The national firearms association is preparing a court case, there are
other lawsuits against different parts of the legislation as well.
Most Canadians have been ambivalent at best about gun control. The
NFA is currently becoming a more organized lobbyist(thank god) and
more people are starting to see the problem. This proposal came out
of the blue, it was announced yesterday. The good news being, that
with an election looming there is no parliament sitting to pass the
bill, which I am given to understand now is just being drafted. We
still have time to crush this if we can get the current liberal
government out of power. For the most part, Canadians know that the
U.S. is our major trading partner, but like with most things it's the
obnoxious sound clips that make the news. The Prime Minister you hear
on the news "speaking for Canadians" had a minority government, and
lost the confidence of parliament forcing our election on January 23.
I hope we can get this killed and also foster closer relations with
our neighbours.
