To: "Simon"...
I am sorry to hear of your plight. We here in the US have our own
crop of politicians who blame the gun ... NOT THE CRIMINAL ... for
the crime. The lesson of 'Gun Control' throughout the UK, Australia,
US (or anywhere else) has INVARIABLY been an INCREASE in 'Crimes
Against Persons' ... VIOLENT CRIME.
Paradoxically, this has lead to EVEN MORE STRIDENT CALLS for Gun
Control. Go figure??? (One definition of INSANITY is ... DOING THE
SAME THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN WHILE EXPECTING A DIFFERENT RESULT.)
These calls for gun control have usually been accompanied by self-
righteous finger pointing (by the same ilk of politicians) towards
your neighbors to the south (US) vilifying `The Americans' and
our 'VIOLENT NATURE' along with our 'phallic' fascination with guns.
I am sure the Canadian target shooting community spoke up in defense
of your southern neighbors during those attacks ... right?
Correct me if I am wrong (I hope I am) but my impression has been
that most of your countrymen have bought into the gun banner's
argument. You have a tough fight ahead.
I WILL pass this along to all my Canadian FRIENDS and contacts!
I also urge ALL BULLSEYESHOOTERS MEMBERS to do so.
GOOD LUCK!
PS
What is the Canadian NRA doing to stop this?
