What about the S&W trigger? Is it serviceable out of the box, can it
be improved, etc? I don't expect match quality but I can't live with
6 lbs either.

Gentlemen; A friend of mine has a Smith & Wesson Model 22A he's offered me for sale. The gun is blued, with a 5.5 inch barrel. It has had maybe 500 rounds...

Daniel, I have one too, along with an IZH-35. The S&W is a great, simple, reliable little plinker, and I like mine a lot. $150 is a fair price for the gun....

These are supposed to be decent. Not quite a 41 but fine for most. FWIW triggers are really much more than a pull weight. Smooth and positive response is what...

Folks I had a SW 22A for a short time. Not a very good gun. My gun was very ammo fussy and had a poor trigger. Great for plinking but not much more. My SW 41...
