Hi,
I'm going to bring my mini-motorhome to the Revolution and I was wondering if
anyone has any recommendations for camping nearby. I already asked the
Revolution staff if I could park at the Winery, but if that isn't possible,
suggestions from anyone familiar with the area would be very welcome. Thanks

One of our visually impaired riders in this year's Revolution needs a ride to
and from Trentadue. Her name is Laurie and she is riding the 25 mile route.
She lives in Berkeley (Haste @ Shattuck) and is willing to go up at anytime and
would like to return after the program. She does not have computer access, so
please call her at 510.849.9606 if you can assist.

Thanks!

Hi all,

Just wanted to check in and let everyone know that this will be used for the
2009 Revolution. Feel free to start posting and use this group as it was
intended (BORP staff will check in on occasion, but the impetus for use is on
the group).

Also, please note that this year's Revolution is on September 26th!

Best,
BORP Revolution Team

Hello Revolution 2007 Participants,

WHAT A DAY!
Nature provided perfect fall weather - clear sunny skies with a light
breeze carrying the scent of grapes still hanging on the vine. Over
200 cyclists of all ages and abilities challenged themselves with
routes of varying lengths through the stunning Sonoma wine country
landscape, collectively covering over 10,000 miles by the end of the
day. Everyone gathered to celebrate their achievements at the Food and
Wine Festival back at Trentadue Winery, where the music was playing,
champagne was flowing, massage tables stood ready, and a gourmet wine
country buffet spread was waiting. Yes, the party was as usual, a blast.

THANK YOU
Thank you, riders, for making Revolution 2007 such a success!
Together, you have raised an impressive $145,000 to date, and that
number is still climbing. Most importantly, the money you raised will
go to support BORP, the Bay Area's premier disability sport
organization. Your efforts will help empower people with disabilities
to live active, ability-focused lives.

Thank you to our sponsors, whose generous support helps make this
event possible. Whether it is underwriting the cost of the event or
providing product donations to help stock the rest stops, support from
our sponsors means more money goes to BORP's programs.

Of course we couldn't have done it without all of our dedicated
volunteers. Many of them gave their entire weekend to help with the
event. They kept our riders safe, fed and on course. And then our
legion of wonderful volunteer massage therapists worked out everyone's
kinks at the end of the ride. Thank you all for your hard work!

IT'S NOT OVER YET...
Don't forget, you still have until November 1, 2007 to finish up your
fundraising and qualify for prizes. Online donations can still be made at:
http://www.active.com/donate/BORPRevolution2007

Any donations in hand or matching gift forms should be sent to:

BORP Revolution
600 Bancroft Way
Berkeley, CA 94710

It's a close race for the top fundraising teams and individuals right
now! The top individual fundraiser wins a TOP-OF-THE-LINE BIKE. The
top fundraising team wins a CUSTOM BIKE TOUR. And of course everybody
who reaches the Level 2 fundraising amount gets a free Revolution '07
CYCLING JERSEY.

Want more Revolution goodies? The Revolution '07 T-SHIRT is on sale
for just $15.00! Call or email us to get yours now while supplies last.

REVOLUTION VIDEO & PHOTOS
The Revolution 2007 video is finished and it is fantastic! You can see
it at:
http://www.active.com/donate/BORPRevolution2007

Feel free to use the powerful footage to show your friends, family and
donors what the Revolution is all about. We will be posting both the
2007 video and the slideshow on our website at www.borp.org very soon,
so stay tuned.

Thanks again for being a part of Revolution 2007!

Congratulations on getting over your fears, training hard and finishing the ride. You both make great role models. Thanks for sharing your story!

The training has been hard, and the fundraising surprisingly easy.

The truth is that we almost didn't sign up, because we didn't know a
whole lot of the BORP crowd, and we also weren't sure if we could
raise any money. We stood outside the boathouse the day of the
kickoff event and almost lost our nerve.

And now, with 99 donors committed, and two days to go, we're feeling
pretty good. We finally managed to cycle the distance that we signed
up for, which seemed virtually impossible when joined.

We're looking forward to riding with y'all.

BORP's Revolution event is just around the corner and it's not too
late to sign up! Come and join us for a magical day of gorgeous
cycling, excellent food and great company. By joining the Revolution,
either as a rider, a festival-goer, or a volunteer, you can proudly
tell your friends that you are a partner of the Bay Area's premiere
disability sport organization. Even better, you will be empowering
people with disabilities to live active, ability focused lives.

We would like to encourage those of you who are already signed up to
hand in your donations by Friday September 28th. If you do, you'll get
a free Revolution 2007 t-shirt! Having trouble reaching your
fundraising goal? Contact us today. We can help. Every single person
who's called asking for help is surpassed their minimum fundraising
goals, and most are finding that it takes less time and effort than
they thought. We want you to succeed, and to enjoy the experience as well.

Don't forget, we have amazing prizes for top fundraisers! The top

team wins a custom bike tour. But that's not all! We have fabulous
wines, a Peet's gift basket, a handmade wine cooler, a kids climbing
party, exclusive Revolution 2007 jersey's and tickets to our VIP event
(for level 2 fundraisers) and free hotel rooms (for level 3
fundraisers) to give away. Team captains who recruit just 2 NEW riders
earn the Revolution jersey and an a VIP ticket. Team captains who
recruit 4 NEW riders earn the free hotel room for one night, plus the
Revolution jersey and a VIP ticket. EVERY registered rider gets a free
Revolution 2007 water bottle!

We need a few more volunteers! Volunteering at the Revolution is a
great experience and will earn you a free pass to our Food, Wine and
Music Festival. You'll be able to enjoy a free professional massage,
wine-tasting, a gourmet wine-country buffet, music, champagne, and a
slide show and video of the Revolution 2007 together with the riders.

Are you riding or volunteering and do you want to bring friends to the
festival? No problem! They can go to our website and sign up as a
festival guest. Admission is $80.

Not able to make it this year? There is still a possibility for you to
support BORP's programs. Just write a fundraising letter to the people
who supported you before and ask them to support our BORP Athletes
Team this year. By doing this, you'll be creating a possibility for
our low-income participants to be a part of this amazing event.

For information and registration go to www.borp.org, send an email to
revolution@... or call 510-849-4663. We hope to see you at the
Revolution in Sonoma County on October 6th!

RIDE! We started the day with one of our biggest rides of the year
organized by the Touchstone Bike Club. About 60 cyclists rolled up at
the brand new BORP Bike House. Weekend warriors and serious cyclists
got the chance to ride with disabled and visually impaired riders on
hand cycles and tandems. Everyone had a blast!

PARTY! After the ride we kicked-off the cycling season with a great
afternoon BBQ party at the BORP Bike House. Members of all of BORP's
outstanding sports and adventure programs were there to take part in
the festivities. We had food, fun and got fired up for Revolution 2007.
