Lets kickoff the 2008 riding season in style.
Colorado Springs BOMB will be hosting a kickoff the season event at
Lake Pueblo State Park.
The dates are April 11-13. A Friday through Sunday. Check the
following link for more in depth information.

The schedule looks something like this:

Friday afternoon/evening the 11th as the opening night. Ride and goof
around all day on Saturday, camp out again the 12th...then pack it up
and head to the 'Springs for a ride on Sunday?

Each person is responsible for getting their own campsite. Campsite
information is located at the message board. So check out the message
board at the reference link.

If you aren't into camping or just can't make it down and just want to
come down for the riding on Saturday, and then try to meet up for the
Sunday riding, well that is okay too.

An FYI for all you Colorado Springs BOMB'rs.

BOMB International, the mothership, has a new and improved website and
message board out there. So take a look at what others are doing around
the country and world with BOMB groups.

Also a trip to Moab is planned for late April early May.  The exact
dates are April 30th-May 4th. Check the message board for more
information. Click the BOMB Gathering link on the message board and
read up on all the gatherings around the country. If you can't make
Moab you may be able to make the others. You can also email me if you
like about the Moab Gathering.

Look out the window.  Yep snow is falling. Wet heavy snow, making the
trails a likely muddy mess. So I must cancel the ride for tomorrow.

Let's try again next weekend 3/22. Weather permitting. I will send out
another invite/reminder for next weekend.

Okay so the weather is getting nicer, hopefully.

Let's get out and open the '08 riding season with a nice romp around
Palmer Park.

I will check the forecast on Friday morning and send out an update
depending on the weather.

Weather permitting, let's meet at the main parking lot off of Academy
and Maizeland at 10am. Choice of trail will depend on those that come
out to ride.

Meet at 10am at the main parking lot off of Maizeland on Saturday
March 15.

Many thanks go out to the BOMB Web Development team at the BOMB
Headquarters out in Simi Valley for bringing this back quickly, with
an improved look and a very slick interface.

Depending on the weather let's ride the Intemann trail.
Saturday 11/17/07 at 10am we will start up the Section 16 trail and
ride the Intemann trail.

A quick little description for you:

An amazing mix of technical, cardio climbs, exposure and downhill.
Switchbacks, stairs, etc. This trail has a little bit of EVERYTHING on
it. A length of 2.5 miles one way so we are looking at 5+ miles total.
No really long sustained climbs.

Directions to the trail head:
Highway 24 West 21st Street South Right On Gold Camp. Through 4 way
stop sign. Park at "Section 16 Parking lot"

Okay,

Let's get a ride in for October. Saturday October 13.

The Fall colors should be in full vibrancy which will make for a
great backdrop for this ride.

15 mile loop around the Rampart reservoir the ride will take at
least 2 hours maybe more.

We will meet at the Safeway parking lot, just a little west of
Colorado and 30th avenues. We will leave the parking lot at 9:30 am
to head up to the trail head off of Rampart range road. If you don't
want to meet at the parking lot but want to meet at the trail head
we will meet at the pull off on the left hand side of Rampart Range
road.

If you think you will make it plead reply so I have an idea of how
many will show. Let's get out and ride. The last few BOMB rides have
been Han rides for me. That is Han as in SOLO. I don't mind riding
alone but I would like some company sometimes.

Okay,
Lets ride.

Riding the wonderful singletrack that is Rampart Reservoir. 15 mile
loop around the reservoir with great views of Pikes Peak. This trail
is in the Woodland Park area so it is about 30-45 minutes from town.
The trail is rolling with no huge climbs but 15 miles is 15 miles so
be prepared for a longish ride. 2 hours is likely. This is a
moderate trail.


We will be meeting at the Safeway parking lot on Colorado Ave. and
31st street and leaving together from there at 9am. Hope to start
the trail and 10 am and finish whenever.

idea of numbers.

Sorry for the late notice.

Tuesday 6/26 at 5pm we will be meeting up with bigDave and the
dust2dust mountain biking crew for a ride at the Red Rocks open space.

It is likely the ride will start out playing around in the freeride
area and then move on to the singletrack in the park. So if you want
to hone your techy/freeride skills on some stunts designed just for
that purpose come on out.

6/21 at 4:30pm Palmer Park West entrance off of Paseo.

The choice of trails is plentiful and we can decide on what to ride
based on who shows up.

It has been quit some time since there was a CS Bomb group ride.

Saturday 9am at High Drive parking area or there abouts.

We will ride up Buckhorn and down Captain Jacks. Low key and slow
since I am slow.

Since I've been WAY out of touch for a while due to a major home
renovation project...and I don't see the possibility of jumping back
into things for at least 9 months - Todd Baggley has stepped forward
to co-lead CSBOMB with me.

Volunteers needed NOW.

Construction to begin next weekend, June 17th. At Red Rock Canon off
Highway 24 in Manitou Springs.

Technical features being built will include ladders bridges, teeter
totters, jumps, drops, skinnys, and natural features.

If you have construction experience, great, if not we can still use
your help.

Come be a part of Mountain Biking history - this is the FIRST
city/public park in the United States that has incorporated a Freeride
area into it's design.
