Medicine Wheel is sponsoring a clean up day at the canyon to get the area ready for FREERIDE construction! This will be a great opportunity to come check out the park, look at where the freeride area is going to be, and to help get that new project off the ground. The freeride are is going to be an exciting addition to our riding in town, with the opportunity to build and ride North Shore style stunts, technical challenges, a skills park for beginners, and the possibility of large drops (how about 20 feet?). So come check it out!

A great loop on the west side of Denver near the intersection of C-
470 and I-70. The loop starts with a decent climb, then follows the
ridge south on some sweet moderate technical singeltrack, crosses
over near Red Rocks and climbs back to the trailhead.
Meeting the Denver BOMB crew at 5:45 at the trailhead...leaving
Colorado Springs at about 4pm. Will be back to Colorado Springs by
9:30 - 10:00 'ish.

me know ASAP if you're interested (719) 964-3595.
From Tony Orr:
I spoke with my sister Cindy yesterday. Her son Nicholas who is
about 11 years old, suffered a Grand Maul Seizure last Monday night.
The seizure went on for awhile and Nick was non responsive for about
15 minutes afterwards.
After calling 911 and getting him to the hospital, they conducted an
EEG and EKG and did find some form of issue in the left frontal
lobe. He has more specific testing that will be going on tomorrow.
Although he appears fine at the moment, we are definitely concerned.
Keep Nick and his family in your prayers!

2004-08-10 Rampart Resevoir Trip
Rampart is a 14 mile loop with very little technical riding and some
great views. Plan for about 2 hours ride time.
My van will seat seven and the trailer will haul up to ten bikes.
3:30pm - Meet at Protocol to head up the hill. Protocol is at 1480
Garden of the Gods road. About 1/2 block West of Centennial and
Garden of the Gods road (just west of Chipotle/Ruby Tuesdays).
OR meet at the trailhead at 4:30pm.
** Let me know ASAP if you'd like to jump in on the BOMB shuttle up
to Rampart!

2004-08-14 Pikes Peak Downhill
Please be aware that there is a cost involved with this ride. It is
$35.00 per car load plus gas...we're working out the shuttle
details.
** Please respond ASAP if you plan to do this ride so we can plan
accordingly! Call Keith directly at (719) 964-3595. Final tally
needed NLT Tuesday the 11th.
We'll meet at the Barr Trail trailhead at 9:30am, load up the shuttle
vehicles and head up the hill. It takes about an hour to get to the
top. We hope to be gravity slaves on Barr Tail by 11am at the latest.
The ride will take about 3-4 hours total. Be sure your bike is tuned
and ready to ride (especially BRAKES).
Direction to the trailhead:
Colorado Springs riders...we'll probably meet elsewhere to bring as
few vehicles to the trailhead as possible. Parking is VERY limited
at the Barr trailhead.
Take I-25 to Highway 24 exit. Head West on Highway 24 to the Manitou
Ave. exit (4 miles). From the off-ramp, veer right and drive into
Manitou Springs. Once in town, look for the Cog Railway sign, and
turn left onto Ruxton Ave (1.5 miles). Follow Ruxton all the way to
where it ends at the Cog Railway (.7 miles). Hikers using Barr Trail
should drive past the Railway building, and turn at the sign
labeled "Barr Trail Parking", up a short little steep road (Hydro
Street) to the gravel parking lot (.2 miles).
