Hello all,
It's Keith Donaldson...
Tuesday night - my wife and I met with my ex-wife and her new
husband. He's been to Iraq and back as a reservist and has been
trying to go active duty out at Ft. Carson. He's been told by
the "powers that be" that he is going to be getting orders to Ft.
Rucker, Alabama. My ex and he have already decided that they'll be
moving and as a result taking my three kids (16, 13 and 10) with
them. I believe that they are making a short sighted and very
selfish decision in regards to the future spiritual, emotional and
physical well being of our three kids. I think you all know how
involved I am as a father...and how singly important my kids are to
me.
Our divorce decree dictates that neither parent can take the children
out of state without written approval of the other parent. We both
made this decision to include this in good conscience with the
children's best interest in mind. They have already told the kids
they're all moving in direct opposition to my request to wait until
all the parents involved have come to a final solution.
At this point William (her new husband) has yet to recieve and still
has the option to turn down the orders. The downside is that he'd
have to revert back to a reservist and give up his long term military
carreer...and quite frankly is of little concern in light of what is
best for my three kids.
I have requested..and they have agreed to meet with a pastor of their
choosing from their church (Pastor Mel Watters, New Life) and a
pastor from our church (Chris Carter, Calvary Worship Center) to meet
together within the body of Christ with solid biblical counsel to
seek God's guidance regarding what is best for the children. We are
meeting today at 1pm at New Life.
Please pray that all hearts and minds will be completely open to and
guided by the Holy Spirit and God's will in this matter in regards to
what is best for our three children and their relationships with BOTH
parents.
Thank you...please forward to anyone that would be willing to take
the time to lift this situation up!
