80's Gianni Motta Pista Track Bicycle Bike 54cm - $1000 (SE Portland)

Date: 2010-06-27, 8:51PM PDT
Reply to: sale-t7fgq-1814609594@...

VERY RARE VINTAGE LATE 80'S Gianni Motta Pista track bicycle--54cm (c-c)
FEATURES:
All Campagnolo super record pista components.
--Columbus Tubing
--Campagnolo super record pista pantographed cranks
--Campagnolo super RECORD PISTA pedals!
--Campagnolo super record pista headset!
--Campagnolo super record pista pantographed stem
--3T handlebars with hole for internal brake
--50th anniversary pantographed Campagnolo super record seat post
--Fizik Vitesse blue saddle
--NISI tubular rims with Campagnolo super record pista low flange hubs

This bike is a knock out. It's ridden the Alpenrose Velodrome a couple times and
I can't bring myself to ride it on the streets or Portland anymore. The frame
was hand-built in Italy by Gianni Motta in 1984. The paint is still shiny, but
has some flaked off spots here and there, with a couple bad spots, which is
typical for the delicate candy-like paint jobs of 80's Italian bikes. Overall it
presents really well (look at the pictures and judge for yourself!). The
geometry is really tight and this bike rides VERY stiffly and fast. There are
nice 'artistic' touches on the frame too, like the curved seat stays. The fork
came drilled and the bike had a front brake originally set up when I purchased
it. I took it off shortly after since I never used it. The brake comes with the
bike, disassembled. I love the paint job, stars and stripes. It's and eye
catcher. Basically, if you're willing to buy a bike like this you most likely
already know what you're looking at. Feel free to make an offer. I'll ignore it
if its stupid.

Near Mint Vintage Lotus Classique - $400 (Eugene)

Date: 2010-06-27, 10:39AM PDT
Reply to: sale-upwhy-1813771294@...

This is a vintage Lotus Classique road bicycle from the mid 80s. The Classique
is part of the Triathlon Series from Lotus and designed for road racing/touring
use. The bike is in excellent condition, with nearly perfect original paint and
components. It's been in storage for many years, and appears to have been ridden
only a handful of times. The bike is fully equipped with Shimano 105 throughout.
The crankset is set up with Biopace chainrings and the toestraps are the
original lotus branded suginos. The wheelset is 105 hubs laced to Araya rims
with period appropriate tires in excellent condition. I've just rebuilt all
bearings (hubs, headset, bottom bracket) with Phil Wood grease and replaced the
cabling as well. Sizing is about 57cm for both seat and top tubes. Total weight
is just under 20 lbs. Please feel free to email me with questions or offers.
Thanks.

Trek 620 rare touring bike; 47cm chain stays - $450 (New Brunswick)

Date: 2010-06-28, 12:55AM EDT
Reply to: sale-xuj72-1814660222@...

Dark blue 50cm Trek 620 (rare and classic frame, one step up from the 520); has
the extremely sought after 47cm chainstays, so there's lots of room for panniers
in the back. Clean frame has just a few small rust spots.
Stronglight headset.

Full original equipment is in good ride-able condition, though the rear
Sachs-Huret (duopar?) derailleur needs some work:

"The Huret Duo-Par is considered, by some, to be one of the very best classic
touring derailleurs. It might take some time and trying a few chains of varying
stiffness to get it just right, but it can be made to shift superbly."
http://www.bikeforums.net/archive/index.php/t-207946.html

If you buy this bike in the next 2 days, I'll sell you a front lowrider rack and
a pair of black Lone Peak bags (older version of Sundance I believe, with no
cinch strap) for another $40.

I'll post some pictures in the morning. If you're interested, give me your
number and be ready to buy this week. If it doesn't sell, I'm taking it with me
across the country.

1985 Trek 620 Touring bike, 62cm - $350 (Cary)

Date: 2010-06-29, 8:53AM EDT
Reply to: sale-ddrpg-1816835440@...

Bike is in excellent condition. I beleive it is a 1985 model. Reynolds 531
Chrome Moly steel frame. I fixed it up last year for my son but it is just too
tall for him. It is all original except for new tires and Cinelli cork handlebar
tape. I also put on a new Trek saddle but I still have the original San Marco I
could include. Very low miles. Really no visible wear on gears or components.
Cosmetically it is probably a 9 out of 10 with just a few paint chips, no dents,
dings, or damage. Here are specs for a '84 model which seems about the same:
http://www.vintage-trek.com/TrekBrochure1984Touring.htm . $350 firm. The last
one of these sold on ebay for over $1000 and it was a bit hacked up.

Miyata 1000 Touring bike - 54cm – 1984 (vintage) -$575.00 - $575 (R.O.)

Miyata 1000 Touring bike - 54cm – 1984 (vintage) -$600.00

I am selling my 1984 Miyata 1000, size 54 and I am the original owner. The 1000
features a double butted chromoly frame & fork, three water bottle mounts, rear
black anodized carrier, 40 spoke rear wheel, and a 36 spoke front wheel.

The mid-eighties One Thousand touring bike made by Miyata in Japan is considered
one of the best production touring frames ever made. Sheldon Brown
(sheldonbrown.com) called the Mid-80’s Miyata 1000 "possibly the finest
off-the-shelf touring bike available at the time"

This bike is an 1984 model purchased in early 85 and used for week long tours
for the first couple of years. The bike saw little use from 1990 to 2008
(switched to Mt biking). I dusted it off and added a new chain, new tires,
tubes, cables, cable housings, & re-greased the wheel bearings in April of 2009.
Rode for approximately 200 miles in 2009 after the upgrades. Also, the extra
wheel set included has been the primary wheels used from 1990 to 2009. Original
rear derailleur and freewheel has been replaced. Pedals not included.

The frame is not bent and shows typical wear & scratches of a 26 y/o bike. The
rear dropout braze-on used to hold chain when the wheel is off, broke off. The
brazed-on chain-slap guard also broke off.

Colnago Sport - $450 (Saint Paul)

Reply to: sale-czvzn-1817513187@...

Asking $450 or best offer. Colnago Sport most likely one of the Mexican-made (by
Bendetto or Velosport) versions from the late 1970s-mid 80s. It was most likely
brought over from Germany, as there is a German bike shop sticker on the the
down tube. The headtube badge and down tube signature however are decals, both
of which have some nicks. The frame is a metallic red, and is in overall good
shape, though it does have nicks and scratches. Here are the rest of the
components: Frame: Columbus Aelle--60cm--very light; 59c-c seat tube, 58c-c top
tube, 33.5" standover// Wheels: Avocet sealed bearing hubs, SuperChampion
"Gentleman" Rims, 700c presta--very light// Headset: Colnago// Bottom Bracket:
Gipiemme sealed// Cranks: Drive Side 52-42 Gipiemme (original)/ non-drive side
Suntour Custom (replaced)// Front Derailleur: Campagnolo (original--works
great)// Rear Derailleur: Campagnolo (original-works great)// Cassette: 7-speed
Sachs// Handlebar and Stem: Guidons Philippe Atax// Brakes: Modolo (original)//
Brake Levers: Suntour (replaced)// Pedals: Original HTI road race pedals
(one-sided) with Campy chrome toe clips// Tires: rear Hutchinson Quartz 700x23c/
front Vittoria 700x28c// Saddle: off a nice Quintana Roo, barely used

This bike is so much fun to ride with the bullhorn bars! I just recently tricked
out this awesome 61cm(largish) road bike to look like a fixie but it's not.
Considering all the hills in Eugene and even on campus the 18 speeds come in
pretty handy. The way this bike is set up it's going to be hard for anyone to
keep up. You won't be disappointed, the bike looks great I was so lucky to find
one with the perfect vintage look. Not to mention the paint and decals are good
too and everything is mechanically perfect. The frame is a super nice Japanese
lugged frame, has suntour shifters and pretty sure everything else is shimano.
Call me and take it out for a spin @5133213

Not mine, but I've always had a crush on these.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140422283584&ssPageName=ADME:\
B:SS:US:1123

The Coventry-Eagle brand goes way back in British cycling history. This frame
is guessed to have been made in the 1960's, shortly before the name was changed
to Falcon. The frame sticker states that the frame is made of plain guage
Reynolds 531 tubes, forks and stays. The lug work is clean and understated.
The head badge is fantastic!

There are no dents, cracks, or deep gouges in this frame, and no serious rust.
The paint is very chipped and scraped and a repaint would be a good place to
start in putting this back on the road. What you see is included (headset,
bottom bracket set), nothing else.

Frame size is about 55cm center to top of top tube. The top tube is 57cm center
to center. The chainstay (rear center) is around 44 to 45cm which is a classic
comfortable sports-touring length. I expect that this was originally equiped
with 27 inch wheels, and brakes with at least 57mm reach. It looks to have
enough clearance for fenders, even with 27's and lots of room for big tires and
fenders on 700c (although you may need long reach brakes.) I'm not quite sure
how I missed getting a photo of the entire frameset - I will try to add that in
soon.

I purchased this frameset with the idea of creating an extra lightweight classic
English three speed (repainted in basic black and pinstripping with this great
headbadge) to ride on Tweed rides, but that project has been put aside in favor
of others. With the extra long horizontal rear dropouts on this frame (and no
derailleur hanger) it is ideal for conversion to an internal gear hub or a
single-speed.

http://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/bik/1817333818.html

I am selling my 1984 Miyata 1000, size 54 and I am the original owner. The 1000
features a double butted chromoly frame & fork, three water bottle mounts, rear
black anodized carrier, 40 spoke rear wheel, and a 36 spoke front wheel.

The mid-eighties One Thousand touring bike made by Miyata in Japan is considered
one of the best production touring frames ever made. Sheldon Brown
(sheldonbrown.com) called the Mid-80's Miyata 1000 "possibly the finest
off-the-shelf touring bike available at the time"

Frame Size Head Tube Angle Seat Tube Angle Top Tube Length Chain Stay Length
Front Center Length Wheel Base Stand Over (approx)

21.26 inches 72o 72o 21.65 17.72 23.46 40.83 31 ¼

Additional items included in this sale;

• Cannondale rear pannier (just the left one)

• Extra wheel set – Wolber Model 58 rims

Items added in 2009 and have less than 200 miles of use …

• Handlebar tape

• Brake pads

• Jag Wire cable housing and either Jag wire or Shimano brake and derailleur
cables

• Panaracer Crosstown 700x32c tires

• Chain

52cm Bridgestone XO-1 in purple. Great bike for touring, commuting and of course
just getting around. I built this frame up with quality parts, however similar
to the original xo-1 setup with the mustache bars, the jitensha studio bars bend
is little more tame and accepts mountain brake levers. The frame has a small
ding in the top tube, which can be seen in the photos. Here are the parts that
are on the bike,

Wheels: Suntour Superbe Pro Hubs w/Shimano 600 6 speed freewheel 26" Ritchey WCS
rims and dt swiss spokes
Sugino XD Crankset 46-36-26 shimano bb
mks gr-9 pedals
Shimano Deore Derailleurs
Shimano 6 speed downtube shift levers
nitto 90 deg 110mm ritchey force stem
nitto jitensha studio flat bar (with lots of sweep)
shimano 600 headset
1.5 inch wide tires (one wtb, one advocet)
ideale (thicker leather than a brooks) half sprung saddle
dia compe brakes and brake levers

I am also willing to modify the parts to your liking, from thumb shifters,
saddle or even a different bar setup.

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/bik/1813707327.html

I bought this for my wife last year...well, this was not the right
choice! I am a Rivendell rider and had a vision of getting her on the
road with me...this did not work. This bike has less than 10 miles on
it...after the first ride, she felt the moustache bars were too low, so,
I had them flipped, as you see in the picture....easy to flip back, any
shop (or you) can do this.

The Brooks B17S was NOT a good choice either...this came off after the
first ride as well, so this has maybe 2 miles on it...

I held on for the weather to clear to see if a year passing would change
her mind...nope, she is not a cyclist...as evidenced in this morning's
'ride'...so, off to Craigslist...

I am not offing much of a description as I trust, if you are looking at
this ad, you know this bike well...

I live in Hillsborough and work in San Mateo, so, showing the bike is
easy....

Not many Rivendells come onto Craigslist...

52CM...my wife is 5'7"...as new, not a scratch on it, tires, Jack
Browns, are perfect...a very comfortable bike for anyone with an
interest in cycling....

For more information, Sheldon Brown's site always provides quality write
ups...there is also a ton of info if googled...

54cm Fuji Del Rey (circa 1985). For a rider about 5'6" to 5'8" (31-1/2"
standover height). Bike is not original, but a good vintage frame with
low miles, rebuilt as a touring/randonneur bike with new and NOS parts.
Traditional lugged frame made with Fuji's lightweight Quad-butted VAlite
chrome-moly steel tubing. Frame has a few minor scuffs but overall in
excellent condition.

Sugino Triple crank 48/36/26, 7-speed rear cassette 12-28, new wheels
with Shimano 105 hubs/DT Swiss rims. 700x28 Panaracer Pasela TG tires.
New Shimano 105 derailleurs, many new Nitto parts. Honjo fenders in
hammertone finish. Selle Ti Flight saddle. This a very responsive riding
vintage sport touring bike with new parts, that rides and shifts
perfectly. Carradice saddle bag shown in the photo not included.

1983 Fuji: Team Fuji *MINT* Vintage Steel

61cm frame, will fit anyone from 5'8-6'3

1983 Team Fuji.

This lugged steel bike is a great example of the vintage craftsmanship
from Fuji in the mid 1980’s, using a proprietary quad-butted VALite
tubing

Nearly all the components on this bike are original. It has new tires
(Continental Grand Prix 4000 Foldable Tire/Blue 700X23), Selle Italia
Turbo saddle (white). I have the original saddle as well, it's in MINT
condition. MKS touring pedals and MKS toe clips, Vintage Cateye Snake
toe straps. Includes original Zefal frame pump.

A list of the other components can be seen in the original brochure
here, mostly Nitto and Suntour:

belongs on display or on the road, the choice is yours.

It's sure to turn heads wherever you go, I receive compliments every
