Pat:

1. Just curious. Did Tobias register his iguanas in your race? And if he did, you better cash his check quickly: there is a sale on iguana food at Shoprite this week.

2. Is there anyone running in my age category? I want to win a prize. You know, when I ran in CT's race, I won a free haircut and everyone is now saying I look like a sex-god. I should get something from you too for my 25 bucks.

3. I hear from the mathematicians that it is quicker to run your race in reverse. Is that allowed?

It's not necessarily the yahoo group email that's being hacked but individual accounts on yahoo, gmail, hotmail, etc.  The bots that hack individual accounts are looking to blast emails and especially target addresses with the word 'group' in them.  Web based email providers are coming up with better security to protect against this.  For example, Google's mail has a redundant login system in which you need a randomly generated code to access your email.  If anyone is hacked they should look into similar security measures from their provider.

Hello everyone,

The photos for Staggered Start have been posted to the Flickr site...

Last year at this point in the series, I talked about there being lots of happy, smiling runners charging down the final stretch towards the final finish, but on Sunday there were just as many waves and smiles as you all started up that dreaded, and statistically slower ‘Left-Sider’ hill from the causeway....

The 2011-12 WS has not only provided new ‘Numbers’ records, but the Flying Feet and Wavers have now been joined by a Cartwheeler, a group of Pyramid Builders and even what I’ll call a Wannabe ‘Tumbler’....

My goal each week has been to catch some of the spirit of everyone at the race and then put all of that together in the weekly set of photos to tells that event’s unique story - and then hopefully that collection of 12 races captures a little bit of what makes our WS such a fun ‘happening’ and the BCRR a great group of folks.

So – to close out this season, I want to say how much I’ve enjoyed the opportunity to once again be part of the WS through these photos. Since back in ’07 when Melanie first asked me if I’d like to help out while I took a few photos of my wife Shirley and her gang from Doylestown (and cheered them on), each week has always brought with it some new experiences as this dedicated group of WS runners and volunteers come together to challenge the weather and hills of Tyler.

Next up - the ‘The Banquet’ with all the great food, fun and ‘intrigue’ that always comes with this evening...

Thanks again folks. Enjoy -        Jack Blumenstock

Other Stuff -

If you run into an issue downloading any of the photos from the Flickr site, send me the # (s) you want and I’ll forward a copy of the original.

Following is a direct link to all of the WS photos; or you can access them through the ‘Photos’ box at the BCRR website and Winter Series Page.

Steve;
You also have trouble hearing. They have been saying "Sexless" god. But I do
agree that there should be an Iguana group set of prizes in the race. We are
very particular in Warminster. You have to leave your guns, poor sense of
humor, or any humor for that matter at the gate.

Tomorrow Saturday February 25th we will be meeting for the weekly trail run at 7:30 am.  Once again we will be heading up to BALD PATE.  For those that aren't ready for a longer run, you will have the option of cutting it short and doing 8 miles total.  Those in for the whole run can expect to run about 14 miles in about 2:45.  This run will be very rocky.  This run will be very wet.  This run will be very hilly.  Be prepared.  For those that miss Washington Crossing we'll head back there next week.

We meet on the NJ side of the Washington Crossing Bridge.  After crossing the bridge from PA into NJ bear to your left (don't cross the canal) and park in the first open lot.

See everyone in the morning!

Hello,

Over the last three weeks, I have received RSVP's from many of you, as well as several at the last Winter Series race.  Thank you for those RSVP's. I DO STILL need many more RSVP's, however.  I know a lot of you would like to attend, and understandably, if you cannot attend, then you cannot.  But if you can attend, please don't procrastinate...get that check with the filled out form, mailed to me within the next week.  I have attended the past four banquets, and have had a wonderful time at each one.  So if you have never attended a Winter Series banquet, come see for yourself what the rest of us who have attended, know what all the fuss is about.  Join in the laughter, reminiscing, race and injury discussions, good food, drink, music, photos, awards and prizes!  It's a time for dressing up, and not being able to recognize some folks, as we won't be in our usual running attire.  This subject alone,  among many others, is a great way to start off conversation at the Winter Series banquets.  After seeing so many of us with red, runny noses, sweaty running clothes, and a little (or a lot) of body odor...it's a nice change to see everyone all gussied up in their best bib and tucker!  Time flies, so please don't hesitate, and get those RSVP's in the mail to me by next weekend!  Date of the banquet is Sunday, March 18th, with festivities kicking off at 5pm. "Be there or be square"....yea, I just dated myself.

Thank you Roadrunners, and have a great weekend!

Science (or at least, weather.com) suggests that you're mistaken. At
7 AM tomorrow "those people" will be huddling in 36 degrees while you
are basking in a balmy 38 degrees.

Date: Fri, Feb 24, 2012 1:44 pm

Warrington? Warminster? What's the difference? One has two 7-11's and a K-Mart and the other has 3 Dunkin Donuts stores and a Walmart. Can you really tell the difference?

Now Newtown has real character!

Or do people say Newtown has some real characters. I am not sure.

Overall I like the new shirts but not much of a fan of the mean looking roadrunner.  Aren't we a friendly group?  Actually I had a few comments from other (non club) people about it.
