Well I guess I'll start off telling you all about some of the other
rangers and then I'll get to what I have on Austin. Walter Jones is
a dance instructor; he teaches salsa dancing. He does have a site
and here's the link http://www.walteremanueljones.com/
Amy Jo Johnson has been on shows such as Felicity and Wildfire but
she's mainly focusing on music. Her website is
http://www.amyjojohnson.com
Unfortunately, if you don't know this then it will be devastating.
In September of 2001 Thuy Trang who portrayed Trini Kwan on the
original MMPR died in a car crash after the car she was in lost
control. You can do a search on Yahoo or Google to get more
information on that
Now I personally know what's going on with Steve Cardenas and I can
tell you this, if you saw him you wouldn't know it was him. He's
bulked up so much that he doesn't even look like himself. That's
all I can give you though, but I do know that he really loves the
fact that he still has fans.
Now, this is what I have on Austin. I came across this chat
transcript at this link http://www.amyjo.com/html/info/int04.html
but I've posted it below (with some corrections made).
Austin, JDF, and Amy Jo are the stars being interviewed, and they
definately had some interesting things to say. Now this transcript
is from the Summer of 2001, but some of you may not have read it.
Welcome to StarNews power page. We have taken the chance to talk
with Jason David Frank, Austin St. John and Amy Jo Johnson. They are
the most popular from the show! Six years ago, the Power Rangers
started on american television and it was extremely popular in the
states and still today, the Power Rangers story is alive. Not many
television series have lived for so long! But the story is about to
end next year and the new or maybe we should say old story comes
back in 2002. This is the year for the release of the comeback
movies!
Austin and Amy, you are the oldest from the show of you three, what
made the show so popular?
I would say all the fun, all the action and the adventure (Austin).
The same for me, many liked Bulk and Skull. They were great to work
with (Amy).
What made Mighty Morphin Power Rangers come to an end?
Ahh, well, Saban got loads of viewers after Green with Evil
episodes, so they wanted to do something to get the older viewers,
but they lost viewers instead (Amy).
So they made the second Power Ranger show. What more would there be
to see for the older people?
Well, there would be more realistic fighting sequences that were
less, what older people thought, stupid (Amy).
Zeo, why was it called Zeo, and was it fun doing it?
The show was called Zeo because..... I don't know really. It was an
idea of a new power. And oh yes, It was great, but I didn't like the
suits at all. But the cast was wonderful. But I must admit that I
missed the original cast. I always had the thought of leaving in Zeo
(Jason).
Why didn't you?
Steve got to stay and he talked me into it. I enjoyed the cast
(Jason).
Why did you (Austin) leave so soon?
I'm not sure you can call it soon. We made like 70 episodes/season.
It was too hard on me. If I would have stayed a bit longer I might
as well have had a heart attack. I just wasn't used to that kind of
acting (Austin).
What about you Amy?
Good question. I don't know. I made it for 3 seasons and I enjoyed
it, but I suppose it was just because the original actors went away
from the show that i needed to get away.
Jason, how did you feel playing evil?
It was great! Don't get me wrong, but I got a special feeling by
playing evil. I got to do what noone else could do (Jason).
What was that?
Well, I was able to destroy the Power Rangers. I didn't want to be
good. I wanted to be a bad Ranger in the show, but I got used to it
and liked playing good later on (Jason).
When I saw the show once, I noticed that Tommy & Kimberly had some
romantic attraction.
That's right. Shuki (creator) wanted more of it in Zeo, but Amy left
just before Zeo started so it wasn't ever any romantic stuff in the
show (Jason).
Have the two of you ever been romantically involved in your real
life?
No, absolutely no, but I can't say I've never felt anything for her.
We thought it would be best to be friends (Jason).
Amy and Austin, you both came back in the latest movies from 1997,
Why?
Well, we wanted to be a part of the Power Rangers story, but not to
be a ranger, and it was fun (Austin)
Yeah, we got to be more ourselves (Amy)
Ok, well later the Turbo show started, in '97. but it sure didn't
live long.
You're right. I didn't want it to continue. I felt stuck in the show
and so did the others so we passed on our powers to the new rangers
(Jason).
Then the new show started, It was the 4th series of Power Rangers!
In many ways it was better than any other Power Ranger show, but I
never saw it (Austin).
It started where Turbo left off, but I think it's time to cancel the
show (Jason).
Why?
Well neither Turbo, Power Rangers in Space or Lost Galaxy have been
doing good so it's just a waste of money (Amy).
Now a new movie is on the way. Are you looking forward to it?
Well I am. It was a long time ago now, and we get to be the original
Rangers in the new movie adventures (Austin).
Shuki says he will do it right this time, but the movies are just on
the paper for now (Amy).
I've heard that one couple will be married in the new movies, is it
true?
You are looking at the new Tommy and Kimberly Oliver. Heh! But that
won't happen until the end. But it feels right to have some romance
on the movies (Amy)!
It sounds great, hope the movies will get to the big screen!
Not that we know of, only on tape.... more like a double tape box
(Jason).
Well, Thank you for your time, and I wish you good luck in the
movies.
Ok, that's the end of that. Now, I'm not sure if all of you know
this but on the "The Best of Power Rangers: The Ultimate Rangers"
DVD Austin makes an appearance (along with Jason David Frank) in a
Wild Force episode called Forever Red in which all of the red
rangers come together to save the world. Now someone gave me this
DVD as a joke but what they didn't know is that I used to be an avid
Power Ranger fan, and since it does have White Light Episodes 1 and
2 on it with the original rangers, I watch it, A LOT!
Now, last thing. I HAVE come across an address for Austin on a
message board. The thing is noone on that board has tried it so I
can't tell you if it works or not, but I will give it to you all.
If you have tried it and know for a fact that it doesn't work then
please let us all know so that noone wastes their time writing a
letter. It's supposed to be his management address, but who knows.
Anyway,the address is ....
Austin St John

Like I said I don't know if it works or if it's even a valid
address. That's all I've got for now. Whew, that's a lot to take
in! Hope it helps you all!
