Blum's big hit lifts
Astros over D-backs

of the Astros' series with the Diamondbacks, manager Cecil Cooper lamented his
team's inability to get the big hit when it seemingly had the opponent on the
ropes.

The Astros' effort Tuesday was probably more of what Cooper was seeking. Geoff
Blum's three-run double off Edgar Gonzalez in the third inning broke open a
close game and led the Astros to a 6-4 win over Arizona, evening the series at
Chase Field at a game apiece.

The Astros and Citgo are combining their efforts during the game on Friday, May
2 with the Citgo Home Run Challenge to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy
Association. For every home run an Astros player hits during the game, Citgo
will donate $10,000 and an additional $5,000 if the Astros win the game. Come
