I haven't been seeing any postings lately, perhaps because everyone is in a funk over the way the boys have been performing. Last night's debacle was one of the worst. Time after time they had runners on second and third and couldn't score anyone. Leadoff triple? Nothing to show for it. Bases loaded with one out, Berkman and Kent coming up? Both strike out, not even getting wood on the ball. But even at that they manage to go to the 9th with a one-run lead. Berkman inexplicably misplays a routine fly ball to start the inning. But how many times have we seen Dotel just bear down and blow it by a couple of guys in that situation? He couldn't do it last night, though, and they end up giving up three runs. They're really hard to watch right now. Let's hope this bad stretch is very temporary and that they get things righted real soon. Otherwise, the rest of the Central might pull too far in front. Right now I'm just thankful for the Pirates; otherwise our boys would be on the bottom.
