Those of us that might be coming in from out of town have no clue where any of
that stuff is. I'm from Chattanooga, TN and looking for a bike ride to join.
This is the only group close enough to me that I've managed to find any recent
activity on.

Meet and return to Asheville Pizza and Brew on Coxe at 4:00pm. Or the lot next
to Bio Wheels, (same area). The noon ride a couple years ago was hot and sunny
for all that bare skin so early in the year.

It's Sat June 13. Nothings been planned yet for Asheville as far as I know.
I'm not organizing it alone but if someone steps up to join me, I'll be on it.
We have to hurry tho. Time's a wastin'.

I emailed Art 2 People to see if they're interested in body painting. Waiting
to hear back/I need to follow up.

I think it would be fun to meet up somewhere for a body paint party (somewhat
private like a backyard, garage, etc to avoid gawkers) for approximately 3
hours, ride for an hour, and then end up someplace for food/drink/social/music
(this part we'd throw some clothing on for). The pizza brew pub was mentioned.

I'd like help organizing the route, and where to end up (I'm new in town). I
think it'd be easy enough to find body painters on craigslist or threw the artsy
peeps in town.

The other part is just getting the word out. The more, the merrier (especially
when naked, right?) Spread the word to bike people, freak people, art people,
activists, environmentals, etc...

Come on people, someone organize with me!!

Congrats Sunny,
You're on the committee! :)
Official Nude Flyer Maker.
AVL Pizza & Brew is a possibility. Do you know anyone there personally?
Re cops: I say a few of us paint up as cops and police ourselves. heh.
Informing the cops or not can be discussed in committee.

Who else wants to be on The Committee?!? !?

Just found this WNBR Asheville website from last year.

I'm pretty confident we can get somewhere between 4 and 100 this year.

jacksdemo, wanna help us organize again? :)

Anybody else out there wanna help organize? Maybe meet downtown somewhere for
an hour or so to discuss ideas and put some into action? How do the next two
weeks look for people? I'll be at LEAF but other than that I'm open to meeting
days or evenings. During the week is best.

hey y'all. Critical Mass the other day was enjoyable and safe, albeit we
numbered only 7 due to the rain. we want to do it again on April 24th.
are folks here alright with changing the meetup location to Pritchard

thanks!

Thanks for the article, very good reminder. At the end of my first critical
mass got suckered into a protest that I did not appreciate. Hope other folks
read it. It's a good reminder for all of us.
I will be there next month, barring any unforseen difficulties. I would also be
into a full moon ride, maybe march or april, weather depending.
Thanks for your interest.

i am injured (bone chip in my foot) so i didn't make it. i haven't heard from anyone--i'm guessing it didn't go down.

how about it everyone? are we on for March 27th?

i was fortunate to be able to ride in the Bay Area's last Halloween ride. it was by far the best mass i've been to. so fun, inspiring, organized, safe and no hassle. i think this article by some of the organizers and founders of the Bay Area mass explains why the mass is so great there.

its supposed to be 53degrees and 35% chance of rain at that time of day.
8mph winds. i think the conditions are doable but i don't know how many
people will come out... perhaps if we plan a meetup afterwards -- that
could be fun.

Hello asheville bikers,
Is there a critical mass ride tomorrow night. I'm in town with a friend and
we would like to participate, but we do not have bikes.... Do you know
where we could borrow/rent?
Also, if this works out, can we wear our santa costumes for the ride?

Thanks,

B. Maniere

Date:   Friday October 31, 2008
Time:   6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Location:   City County Plaza to The Wedge
Notes:   AoB,
Asheville on Bikes presents the Pumpkin Pedaller – a Halloween tour through Asheville's ghoulish grounds.
Friday, October 31st Halloween Evening

The fun begins at 6:30 at City County Plaza and culminates at 8:30 at the Wedge Gallery's Halloween Bash . Of course, costumes are customary.

The ride isn't strenuous, but there are a few short climbs so design your costume to be bike functional. Be well illuminated and wear your helmet.

ProBikes, Liberty and BioWheels wants you to be properly equipped for the ride so save $2 on bike lights or a bell with an AoB handbill.

You'll want a little spending money for the evening, as well. We'll arrive at the Wedge Bash just in time for hot music, dance, refreshing beverages supplied by The Wedge and light fare. $10 at the door for Asheville's premier 21st century traditional jazz, The Firecracker Jazz Band. Food venders will be on the grounds so you can replenish your energy after the ride.

The next AoB event is the Holiday Parade on Nov. 22. The parade theme is "the art and heart of giving." AoB's theme is "Ride your City with Love." More to follow....
