I just voluntered to work at the GGG, Thanksgiving morning.
Below is a link to do so, you get the nice long sleeve shirt
and free beer and raffle  stuff too.
see message from race director Bill below..        Steve Pepe

This is my least favorite part of the Gobble.

Every year 3 things happen:
1) I face a shortage of help-especially folks willing to work DURING the race
2) this adds tons of stress and I have to keep sending emails begging folks to help out
3) You folks always come through & jump out of the woodwork at the last minute to help

So, for 2009 how about we skip the middle part ?

We have nearly sold out all 2500 numbers and to date we have only ten (10) people to work during the race. Last year we had 36 people -- uh oh !!!

All volunteers receive:

- guaranteed VIP access to bypass the line for post race party at the Burren
- same super cool long sleeve T-shirt as the runners
- a gift from Marathon Sports

And all those who wonderful folks who skip the run and work during the race go into the raffle for no less than eight (8) $100 gift certificates from local restaurants and Marathon Sports.   ************************************************************

I'm thinking I should be good to go for a relatively easy run on Sunday.  (Came off last Sunday's half marathon with some foot pain so I've been slacking off this week.)

Been away for over a month ;) ... was planning to run this Sunday.

Anybody going to be there for a run and maybe coffee afterwards?
