Is there anyone who makes custom gun stocks and needs a Black Walnut tree?
I'm near Batesville and have at least one and maybe two Black Walnut trees
that I am going to have to remove. One is about 14" across the middle and
30' tall and the other is probably 30-35" across the middle and 40' tall.
My great uncle who made custom guns for years for people all over the
world before he retired (we actually lost him just this past weekend)
always said that the Black Walnut trees always made the best stocks and
grips and he used to get 8-12 stocks and a number of grips out of one
the size of the smaller of these two trees.
