I have 2 bolt guns in 280 - Rem 700 Mountain Rifle and a Ruger 77.

One short and light, the other a little bigger and heavier. I absolutely
love the cartridge for deer hunting. I handload 140 and 150 gr. Nosler
Ballistic Tips and have had very good results. The 280 has a slight
versatitlity edge over its twin, the 270, in that it can use heavier bullets
(up to about 175 gr) for bigger game.

Whether you handload or not I don't think you'll be unhappy.


People who don't handload can never be truly happy. :-)
