Time for the parable of the skydivers.
Two men jumped from 12,000 feet, one without a parachute. As he fell free
of the plane, he shouted to his companion, "Well, tell me what I should do
NOW!
And his companion said, "I really CAN't tell you what you should do now.
But if you had asked me ten seconds ago, I could have told you what you
should NOT do."
The moral is, we get in trouble by waiting too long to act. We sit around,
fat, dumb and happy, and give no thought to politics. We don't formally
join the parties, attend all those boring meetings, seek out good
candidates, raise money for them and so on.
So we have to take the candidates other people choose -- and then we moan
and complain.
And we've been doing this so long -- acting like couch potatoes -- that
we're not in shape to actually PLAY in the game. Don't blame the parties
or the politicians -- they're only doing what we in our laziness and apathy
LET them do. If we want to control our fates, we have to WORK. And we're
not willing to do that.

This really sucks, guys. So far Hillary is basically running
unopposed. The Repubs haven't put anyone up yet that I could support,
and I said the previous election was the last one in which I would vote
for someone I couldn't support just because the other choice was worse.
Is this really the state that politics in America has come to, where no
candidate worthy of support could possibly make it onto the ballot?
Maybe this is the opportune moment for a "3rd party" candidate.
