Yes, in the same way that you can prohibit semi's from parking in your
lot.
I think the owners of private property have the right to dictate what
can and cannot be brought onto their property. It is really f%&ked up
what Weyerhauser did to those people, but they were within their rights
doing it. Trying to force the issue with a law is not right.
It seems the NRA has become intoxicated with its own power, and wants to monopolize the 2nd Amendment fight. This looks like an excellent time to contribute...

Don't get me wrong; I am in no way saying we should abandon the NRA. It is definitely the loudest and most heeded voice we have. We should join GOA, JPFO, SAS...
I agree, there must be more to this than we are hearing. Maybe a letter to the NRA from some of its members will spark some dialogue. We all know that a lot of...

I can think of no good reason for the NRA to horn in on someone else's lawsuit when it has been asked not to. (Leave the conflict of interest aside.) Does...
I have had a sick feeling for a number of years that the NRA has an agenda that is not consistant with what they say they stand for. I am a member and WANT to...
The NRA blows it again: www.nytimes.com/2005/08/03/national/03guns.html. Where is the logic in thinking that gun owners' rights can be protected by violating...
... Errrrr.... could it be that they are thinking that it's not a "gun owners' rights" issue at all but instead a general property rights issue? My question...
... can't ... Yes, in the same way that you can prohibit semi's from parking in your lot. I think the owners of private property have the right to dictate what...
Semi's can be prohibited from parking on a lot because mainly the lots are not designed to handle them, parked OR in motion. As for dictating what the CONTENT...
Just because I bring my car into your parking lot does not make it your car. To try and ban me from carrying a gun in my car says that I cant protect my self...
Have to agree with you there. P[rivate property is exactly that PRIVATE. It's like telling everyone that owns a house that they have to join a poa or some ...
... Don't get me wrong, I wasn't trying to stir up anything up or "wiggle on property rights". I guess part of my confusion stems from the fact that the Police...
Interesting discussion. Be careful with this line of thinking however. There is a huge difference between what the police (government) can do and what I can...
Well while you're car does have a reasonable expectation of privacy, sorry a habit from having been a cop. Yes, your car is private property but so is the ...
Under the theory of rights that inspired the founding fathers and framers of the Constitution--namely, John Locke's theory--a property owner has the right to...
"They have this POWER because no one has successfully challenged it" "Rights are rights whether the government recognizes them or not" I don't believe that...
Luckily the Supreme Court disagreed with you and has held that our Rights as enumerated in the Bill of Rights existed prior to, and independant of, that or any...
Exactly. We are "endowed with certain inalienable rights by our Creator" (not Uncle Sam, the Democratic Party, or anyone else). Does this language sound...
But this really illustrates my point: You can say you have a God-given right, but if the government uses its power to compel to keep you from exercising that...
No. What it illustrates is that what you don't have any longer is freedom. States were enabled by the Constitutions to recognised additional freedoms above and...
I know this is a bit esoteric, but these particular God-given rights ALWAYS exist regardless of the legal framework which exists in a particular country at any...
... Rights as enumerated in the Bill of Rights existed prior to, and independant of, that or any other document. This is the same Supreme Court that ruled that...
Unfortunately not - though each holds the same power. The members of the first did a bit better in their thinking than the members of the other, and indeed a...
Well Sheldon, It seems that you support a ban on a gun in MY car, what would you liked to ban next? The state of Arkansas has no problem with me having a gun...
Dude chill, just because someone agrees that a property owner has the right to restrict guns on his/her porperty doesn't make them anti-gun or wanting to ban...
What ever happened to common sense? I won't go into any public place with a gun if its posted that firearms aren't allowed. Same goes for Pulic Parks here...
