Looks like I stirred the pot a little. I've been
to very few NATPA pulls, mainly local pulls. Once a
few years ago, I attented the Dekalb pull in OH. I'm
just tired of seeing the 6 cylinder Olivers,MM's, and
IH's pull in classes, that you have to HAVE a JD with
an outlaw block, head and all the accessories to
compete with. <br>Maybe that's why they have the 6
cylinder JD's locked out by the rules. <br><br>As to the
other comments, it wouldn't bother me a tiny bit to put
a 4010 against an 806. The 806 would most likely
puke it tranny under the strain.<br><br>You have to
admit, the competition would be a croud pleaser and be
fun. After all,,, isn't this the main reason we do
this? It sure isn't because of the money.<br><br>JDF
Didn,t those fellows run a farm store in
Darlington. Can,t remember the name. Bob Compton from near
Rockford Il bought the tractor from Keith. Did a major
ventilation job on the motor in 1998, sat out 1999, and came
back strong this past year. He pitched a rod on the
last hook of the season but said the other day that
the damage was pretty minor. Sure is a crowd pleaser
with twin stacks throwing black smoke.
I know the guy who originally built it, and heard
that he sold it. I was there the year that Keith
pulled at Tomah. Did good for a N/A tractor. I have seen
under the hood and was amazed at some of the things he
had done.
Badger State dropped their N.A. classes. The
Massey is now in Northern Illinois running with Illini
State Pullers. Saw this tractor place in the middle of
the 5500# Super Stocks @ Tomah, WI.<br>Pulls
5000/7000# classes on 24.5's. Holler if you want more info.
Those ISP boys have some other neat iron in their club.
There used to be a MF 1155 pulling in 5500 on the Badger State circuit with a
naturally aspirated Perkins V8. Don't know what happened to the tractor, but
heard it was sold.
and then I will will get out my 930 Case, stripped
to 5500 lbs,[it can and has been done] and meet any
takers at the the border at high noon [central time.
<br>I put on a pull every 4 of july at Lyle Mn. Our age
limit has always been "Brand new and older".<br>The mix
works fine. We pull 4250 thru 22,500 lbs. <br> In the
15,500 class Gary B took it with a stroked 820
JD.......who woulda thunk it! signin off, Caseczar
Hey SloMo that is why the rule is the way it is. Yellow bills would welcome 1962
nonturbos but some color of green always votes it out after they get back in
Ohio
It seems to me that you John Deere people seem to
forget that the 30 series John Deeres are the same age
as the 460 & 560. Is it are fault that DEAR old John
didn't see it wise enough to build something other than
2 cylinders? If you up the age so 4010's can pull I
would be happy to put an 806 in there to. So look at
the age of said tractor (630, 730, 830) and compare
them to (460, 560, 660). <br><br>Donnie
Do you really want an answer for this question? Do you live in a cave? Have you
ever been to an NATPA pull? Do you think that Don or his butt buddies have the
balls to answer?
Why does the NATPA and local rules discriminate
against John Deere? You have to have a completely
outlawed engine set-up to pull against the 6 cylinder
Olivers and the Farmall 460's. All I want is to be able
to pull a 4010 against some of these jokers and
we'll see how great they really are. The 1960 age limit
should be up'd a little to enable these great tractors
to compete in the antique classes, in my opinion.
(Which I must admit is a little bias'd toward the REAL
green.)<br><br>JDFREAK
Could you make a copy of the Detroit conversion literature. I would gladly pay
it. I have a Case LA with a 3/71. Mine did come from KS. Don Livingston. ph 507

Fellow forumers, After a couple rough months we
are back "online". Yes Gary, the roumor is true, We
are operating out of "AREA 51"!! My son's employment
by Art has opened up Art's renowned tractor building
empire to lesser known ones like ourselves. The fabled
DC mill sits in Art's engine stand, YES, He does
have one!! Thank you all for your prayers and personal
notes to Email after the loss of our son in the
accident. mEl
I don't have a problem with Paul's M I finished
right behind him in points in 4500 this last summer.
What my question should have been is in div.3 is there
a problem with changing gears or gear ratio's to
control HP and tire's.With the speed limit I don't see a
problem with it. I say if you can't compete put uncut
tires on and pull div.2 . I also feel div.3 IS VERY
COMPETITIVE good pulling to all see you in march.
I don't have a problem with their tractor. I have
pulled against it several times, and got beat every
time. They have a lot of money in that tractor, and it
shows. They pull it in the open or fast classes, where
it belongs.<br><br>I don't have a problem with the
tranny, even in the low gear classes, as long as it is
pulled in 1st gear on the low side. Several M's farmed
with that tranny. If it was a Kippley 3 speed, that
would be a different story......
I am sending this via email because you are not
clear on the question or even if a question is being
asked. Only a statement was being made.<br>Do you have a
problem with a two speed transmission on the farmall
m.<br>Or is the problem with Lemmons Farmall m
The Lemmons M has a 9 speed, and supposedly he has pulled on the high side of
3rd in a light class on a poor track. I know he runs a lot of wheel speed on
15.5's....
I would like to thank all of the people who sent
me an email regarding message #75, including Scott.
He said that his stepson posted the message, and it
is my impression that he was just trying to ruffle a
few feathers. It worked.<br><br>The charges are
groundless. Everyone pulls the same sled in the same class.
Like most clubs, we rent the sleds. We use the Dew
Sled a lot, and Dewey is as honest as you will find,
not to mention a heck of a sled operator. We also
used the Thumb Trucking sled, the Maumee Valley sled,
and the Terminator sled out of Indiana. They have all
done a very good job for us. At one pull the
Terminator had problems with the measuring wheel on the
sled, but all of the affected pullers rehooked
immediately. He has since replaced the wheel that caused the
problems. Scott knows these people, and I'm sure he would
not accuse them of foul play. <br><br>As far as the
distances go, we do our best to make sure they are right.
We either use the distance device on the sled or a
laser, no tape measure and ropes unless nothing else
works. Most distances are double checked before being
announced. The announcer may make a mistake, but he gets
corrected in a hurry. (Especially the day the announcer was
me since our normal announcer wasn't there!) There
are usually 2 people, the announcer and a helper,
writing down the distances so that there are no
discrepancies.<br><br>As for the rest of it, I am sure that those charges
are groundless also. If I believed for a minute that
those allegations were true I would quit the club.
Those of you who know me know that.<br><br>Also,
tuff43m, please back off. Scott was not the treasurer.
Neither the DCTPA nor Scott needs to suffer any more bad
press.<br><br>Jeff Kinney, aka Slo Mo
The previous post concerning DCTPA was not posted
by myself. It was posted by my step-son. This has
happened before and I hope it`s the last time as he no
longer has my password. I don`t think you`ll be seeing
him over at YT anymore either.<br> My apologies, J.

I would love to see how Mels DC is coming. We are getting ready to do some work
to our DC. Mel helped us win a points championship with it, and now he is going
to help us make it even better.
aRt,<br> It has been a while since I have talked
with mEl. Is he doing okay? I would like to hear how
he is doing and how the ol' DC is coming along. Send
me those picts if it ain't too much trouble. Take
care and we'll talk at ya later. <br><br>Adam Ruscha
You are free to believe what you want. If you
check the records at the courthouse you won`t find my
name. I never took anything from anyone. If you want to
think otherwise, go ahead. Everything I own I worked
for. So feel free to continue your hatred and
discontent. It`s just what pulling needs. No wonder so many
people stay away from it. If you think I`m bluffing or
lying, wait and see what the future brings.<br> J. Scott
Miltenberger<br> P. S. I haven`t been president of DCTPA since
1988. Nothing was lost then. Better take a good look in
the mirror fellows. You know the type of business you
do.
I hope all of you and yor families have safe and
Happy Holidays. May you find a gift certificate good
for the engine builder of your choice under the tree
tomorrow morning.<br><br>Take care,<br>Allen P.
