Normally matters such as this are delt with privately, but there has
been too much said publicly for me to allow this to slide.

Let's just say that if you don't want people to ask these questions,
then don't claim to be an instructor. These are questions that
everyone
should ask when about to spend money on MA. Actually I do have
AUTHORITY. I am an instructor in Cabales Serrada Escrima under GM
Vincent Cabales and more importantly a member of his family. I also
represent the school on matters such as digests, newsgroups, etc.

Well, if you only claimed to be taught by Khalid, then there probably
wouldn't be that big of a problem except for the fact of you claiming
to
be a certified instructor. Cause everyone here already knows about
Khalid. See, the problem with Khalid is that he is trying to depend
on
teaching for his sole source of income. Therefore, you start to
worry
more about how much money you can bring in vice the quality of what
you
teach. Example: Khalid says that he can teach you the complete
Serrada
system in three months. Well, outside of the fact that I spent twice
that time on just angle one, that is just absurd. The main problem
is
the fact that you claim to be taught by GM Cabales.

Then there are the rec.martial-arts posts like this one yesterday:

You are not a certified instructor for Cabales Serrada Escrima and GM
Cabales was or is not your teacher. You stopped by the class ONE DAY
to work out with Khalid. You spent most of the time trying to
unlearn
how to do a shoulder block. I know because I was there. You can say
that you worked out with him once, but anything more than that is BS.
I dont understand why the Vincent Cabales group does
not accept anyone else who has been doing Serrada
as being in Cabales-Serrada system. Here they are
talking about a very good practitioner who studied
from me privately for one year, and has been teaching
since two years, as not valid. Well, I am myself valid
after so many years, and what I say is valid. My teaching
is on DAILY basis and has lots of conditioning and sparring.
Anyway, the best is to be aware that somehow
the Vincent Cabales people do not like the rest of
us.
Are we supposed to shut down? We dont tell them
to shut down, so why?
What we have done since our youth-time of our
lives is dedicate our life to the practice and
teaching of Cabales-Serrada. Now, Guro Dennis and
others want us to abandon this, and stand outside
on the street with our clothes off. What we got
is our $ 15 bucks in life, and we should be protect
it.
So just avoid this group. But dont stop using
"Cabales-Serrada" as your style's name, as we
are related only to the original Grandmaster
and the history we have with Angel.
regards,
KK

In Closing Anthony Park aka Phillip Inoy is not certified under GM
Vincent Cabales nor does he represent the Academy of Cabales Serrada
Escrima. He has minimal knowledge in the Serrada system and should
not
be considered an instructor.

aka GM Cabales' son-in-law

GM Vincent's group does not respect us. Guro Dennis started it all but dont respond to them. We have our own history with Angel. Guro Tony trained privately...
