Hi All,
There is a Systema seminar in Brisbane next weekend, with an
experienced instructor visiting from the HQ in Canada, hosted by
Andrew Seyderhelm at the Brisbane Systema club (which has a good
relationship with Griffith Aikido) and is a pretty co-operative
atmosphere to train in.
Systema has remarkable similarities to aiki principles though the
lineage is quite different. It comes from the SPETZ armed forces from
the russian states, trade your hakama for some combat pants an you'll
fit right in. There are rumors that its origins might have been
influenced by East Asian arts (some speculate much like the aiki
arts some think).
Anyway encourage you to check it out...alas I'm away for the w/
end...sigh...
