Hi Dan,
You probably saw the aiki-kids email on the list this morning. I thought
about this for a while, and thought that perhaps one way of marketing an
aiki-kids class would be as follows:
Aikido for Kids.
Welcome to Aikido for kids. Where the children will learn discipline,
respect for authority, respect for their parents, respect for their elders
and betters and plenty more discipline, all in a relatively safe and
occasionally fun environment (i.e. safe and fun for the instructors).
Strap your child to the front desk upon arrival and after temporarily
signing them over to our 'care' by filling out the lawyer proof indemnity
form, we will take him or her off your hands for the next few hours. We'll
treat them with all the respect that they deserve. Return after you have
had a refreshing break to collect your by now much more passive child, with
his or her little spirit all broken by Sensei.
Bring them back again next week for another safe but stern 'training'
session in the traditional Japanese manner. And remember, in the unlikely
event that they act up again when they get home, just quietly say in
passing "I wonder where I put Mr Bokken" and their little teeth will soon
be all nicely brushed, and you will have them tucked up safely in bed in a
matter of seconds.
Aikido for Kids - bring the world together in a loving and caring (or
alternatively - Aiki) way!
(As recommended by George W. Bush and Saddam Hussein).
Do you think it might catch on?
Cheers,
Bruce
