Hello Everyone.

I'm e-mailing to let you know that after discussion the Exec. has agreed to postpone the Junior Fixtures on Sunday 9th March to a later date. 

We have agree to do this to assist clubs who have entered the Versatility Tournament - this should free up umpires for the tournament and also for them to play.

Can everyone please ensure that if this affects their Club through either umpiring commitments or Junior players that they let all relevant people know.  There is nothing more frustrating than turning up for a match to discover it's been cancelled!!

Hi all,

whilst at the osteopath last night, I found a potential new player
for the district (see, even on my sick bed I am trying!)  Her name
is Tracy Skilling.  She has played netball in the district before a
few years ago and is looking to get back into it again.  She is
looking for a team with good training sessions and is not
necessarily worried if she doesn't play games every week.

I directed her to the new website, which lists teams and their
training nights, (but has limited contact details), but I also said
I would post a note here, so that if any clubs are looking for new
players they can get in contact with Tracy direct.

at this weekend's U17 Development Tournament.

Aberdeen 1 were in Section 1, with Ayrshire, Glasgow, Perth 1 and
Shetland 2 to play.

Aberdeen 2 were in Section 2 with Lanarkshire, Fife 1, Perth 2 and
Shetland 1 to play.

Both squads came top of their sections and went on to play Fife 1 and
Perth 1 respectively in each of their semi-finals. Aberdeen 1 cruised
past Fife with an easy win at 24-7, while Aberdeen 2 produced nail
biting netball to hold on to a two goal lead at 11-9 to reach the
final.

The final was Aberdeen 1 v Aberdeen 2!

Final score was 16-10 to Aberdeen 1.

Hello everyone!

This is the third time I've tried to send this message, but things
seem to be playing up rather... If this is the third time that you
recieve this, then a MILLION apologies. I have visions of all 3
messages being sent at once for no apparent reason. I promise I'll
give up if it doesn't work this time!

OK, the ADNA website has now gone live, and can be found at -

www.aberdeennetball.co.uk

It is a starter for 10, and at least we're now on the web. The site
has been submitted to Yahoo! and Google, so will hopefully
be 'searchable' in the next few weeks. This does take some time
though, so for the moment you'll have to remember the page name.

There is a page for committee contacts, and also for team contacts.
Could you please have a look and let me know what information (if
any) you are happy to have on there - e-mail, phone number, websites
etc., and also for teams - if you want your training times, or
training places filling in. At the moment the default contact for
committee members is 'aberdeennetball@...'. This will come
into this e-mail, and whilst I'm happy to forward these e-mails,
please note that it won't be the most efficient way of dealing with
the e-mails, as I won't be checking it all the time!

If you have a team website, then I will put that in the website
column for the team contacts page. However, if you don't have a
website, but do have page (in word preferably) or so that gives some
blurb about your team and what they're up to, then I will happily put
a link to that if you like, then you can have a say about your team.

If you have any information to update, or new pages that you would
like put on the site, please e-mail it to me at
aberdeennetball@... formatted as you would like it to appear
on the web. I won't go actively looking for stuff, so if you have
match scores, or league tables to update, team news (this could
include small things like births, marriages, retirements, whatever
too - that could easily be another page with small snipetts) or an
event to promote, please e-mail it through, and I will aim update the
site on a weekly / fortnightly basis. Obviously if it's match scores,
you don't have to send anything formatted - I'll just put it in the
table!! It's just if you have whole pages you want adding that I will
need them as you want them to appear.

Please have a look around, just so you can add or change anything you
need to. Any questions, suggestions, glaring errors, then just get in
touch.

I received this information from Disclosure Scotland today. 

"the Protection of Children (Scotland) Act 2003 makes it an offence, among others, for an organisation to offer work (paid or unpaid) in a child care position to anyone who is disqualified from working with children. A check of the Disqualified from Working with Children Lists is undertaken by means of an Enhanced Disclosure application. It is therefore considered best practice that applicants for positions that are defined as "childcare" positions are subject to an Enhanced level Disclosure  check. The description of an Enhanced level check can be found on the Disclosure Scotland website (www.disclosurescotland.co.uk) under the Service Description section. The definition of a "childcare" position is contained in Schedule 2 of The Protection of Children (Scotland) Act 2003. This can be found in the Publications section of our website also. It should also be noted that an Enhanced Disclosure application requires to be counter signed by a Registered Person.

I am looking for some help with umpiring for the next coming Wednesdays
if there is anyone available.

Due to a spinal injury, I should not be umpiring and there is no-one

We would love to come out on Wednesdays but all our young coaches play in Div 1 on Wed night

and will all be tied up til Easter - but maybe after Easter.
