Subject: misc instructor notes
All: Please be sure to note the following for any upcoming training that you may do:
A) AYSO changed to a new website. While you can still type in soccer.org and be routed to the new website, the new AYSO National website address is ayso.org. Please make note of that for your reference, and also be bring up in any training you do. **Make this a bonus question when teaching.
B) The new website has a great area for regional boards. Regional boards have an area featured on the main page that they can click on. Then, the mandatory board position members can click on their job title and immediately be directed to items pertinent to their job. **Share this information when teaching.
C) Don't forget that AYSO approved the 6th philosophy at the 2009 NAGM. That has not been added in to lesson plans yet. **Please include that in yours if you teach anything that discusses the philosophies (which is probably ever management course). Feel free to make it a bonus question.
D) If you teach the Safety Director course, please inform people of our new SAI carrier and therefore new claim forms and brochures. While the lesson plans haven't been updated, please print the new brochure and claim form to share with students if you teach the Safety Director course.
E) For anyone teaching the Treasurer course, RC & Board Orientation or Intro Management, please stress that it is more important than ever that budgets be submitted on time and all other documentation also be kept up to date. AYSO is now withdrawing the powers of RCs if their documentation is not kept up to date. We need to inform not only RCs of this, but also their board members, as RCs can't do it all and therefore count on their boards to help "get the job done". Lets help them accomplish that by spreading the word that AYSO is now holding all regions (through the RC) to deadlines that have always been there, but not previously enforced to the extent that they are now being enforced. RCs can lose their eAYSO access, rights to vote and ultimately removed from their position if an RC/ board isn't compliant.
I again ask that if you do any management teaching, that you let me know A) in advance if possible so that we can get the word out to others about available training B) after the course has been held so that I can include it in the quarterly reports that I now need to submit to the management commission.
Thanks for all of your hard work,
Diana Pfingsten
