Training Activities Spotlight
"Mad House" Is An Activity For A U-8 Team

"Mad House" works on various skills, including dribbling, passing, attacking and defending. You will need a full U-8 team, a soccer ball per player and a set of pennies. You will need four or more cones to mark the grid and two goals.

Mad House

Organization: Using a U-8 soccer field, divide the team into two equal groups. Have one of the groups where the pennies. Place one group on the goal line with soccer balls at their feet, and place the other group at the opposite goal line.

How The Game Is Played: Group with the ball is on the attack, and the other group defends. Points are scored by shooting the ball into the goal at the opposite end of the field. If the defending group gets possession of a ball they go on the attack and try to score in the other team's goal. Group that scores the most wins. Play the game four times.

Variations: Allow each player to have a ball.
