You Can Serve On An Advisory Commission Deadline For This Year Is March 1
The Coaching, Referee, Management and Tournament Advisory Commissions were established by the National Board of Directors to receive advice and recommendations regarding those AYSO programs from AYSO members with expert knowledge and experience. These Advisory Commissions are appointed for a one year term beginning each May.
Those interested in serving on one of the Advisory Commissions are encouraged to submit an application and resume at any time during the year, but should be aware that the deadline for consideration this year is March 1. For more information about the Advisory Commissions, the job descriptions for Advisory Commission members and to download an application, click here. |
| Training Activities Spotlight "Defender Has A Problem" Is An Activity For A U-10 Team
"Defender Has A Problem" works on multiple skills for a U-10 teams. These skills include passing, controlling, dribbling, defending and turning the ball away from goal. You will need a full U-10 team and 12 or more soccer balls.
Organization: You can use a half or full size soccer field. Create two lines near midfield, one line of attackers and one line of defenders. The attackers should be 10 yards behind and outside the defenders. Place one player to be the server to the right of the lines.
How The Game Is Played: An attacker and a defender race to the ball that is played forward by the server. The defender must turn away from the goal and dribble it back up the field.
Variations: Defender must pass back to server. Add a keeper and if attacker wins, allow attacker to go to goal. Use both sides of the field. Click here for more training games and activities. |
