VIP Youth ‘Buddy’ Volunteer Training

Did you know that some of your friends are Buddies? 

They are Buddies to Very Important Players (VIPs) in AYSO Region 372’s VIP soccer program for children with disabilities.  The VIP program needs Buddy Volunteers, ages 10 and older, to work with VIP players during the AYSO soccer season.  Buddies help the players on and off the field, gain new skills, build new friendships with Players and Buddies, and have a great time.  We are now accepting new VIP Buddies, Coaches and Referees for the Spring session. 

 

Being a Youth Buddy in the VIP soccer program is a great opportunity to:

 

                   Receive valuable training

                   Learn about differences

                   Serve your community

                   Have Fun!

VIP COACH AND REFEREE Certification Course

for Coaches, Referees and Senior Youth Volunteers

The VIP Coach/Referee volunteer Certification training will include a practical and upbeat presentation of the AYSO Very Important Player program model, program development strategies, Coach and Referee training, and VIP Player interventions.  Handouts, overheads, activities and discussion will be used to supplement the instruction.  The Mundelein Area VIP program and ‘lessons learned along the way’, in addition to contributions from attendants, will be used as examples.

All interested AYSO or community volunteers are invited to attend.  DONATIONS are requested to offset training program costs.  Surplus contributions will be allocated to the AYSO 372 VIP program for Scholarships,

Section Tournament costs and Parade participation.

VIP players use the same fields and wear the same uniforms as every other player.  They laugh. 

They score goals.  They make friends. They have fun.  And they are part of a team.
