RE: [AUS-Croquet] Policy/Manifesto questions

Welcome to croquet Ian.

I am very pleased you are enjoying a sport that has given me and my family a great deal of pleasure – and on occasion a little pain.  On the whole it has been a tremendous experience enabling both my husband and I to travel across the World to play and socialize with many wonderful individuals.

We live in Brisbane and are always happy to meet fellow croquet players when they are passing through.

We have both recently played at Cairnlea and are sure in time it will be a venue which will benefit the croquet playing community of Australia as well as being a majestic HQ for the Victorian Croquet Association.

Queensland has a couple of venues with the potential for expansion.  Noosa has five lawns and Caloundra (both Sunshine Coast) has four permanent ones with access to provide a further two.  I don’t know the full story about Caloundra but a few years ago I heard they were in the enviable position of having great support from their local Council and community which may in time be leading them toward access to Sports Academy type development in their locality.  (Physio, accommodation etc.)

I am a little bias when it comes to Caloundra because that is where I first learnt to play the game but it is a great club who play all the mallet codes and host major tournament on a regular basis.

Cheers,

Liz
