The target is 2010 (though I think we will be much improved this season) ....

 

Pick 1.4 would be available if I were overwhelmed. I honestly doubt that will happen.

 

Barring that, picks in rounds 3-12 available for market value (some picks are aquired, meaning they land later in the round than the Aeros coveted 1 slot).

 

Looking for young players and 2010 picks. ABSOLUTELY NOT LOOKING TO MOVE: Lester, Guthrie, Wellemeyer.

This message is intended for Lee who does the statistical preparation for the league, but I wanted to let everyone know what is going on.

Regarding the following ALOOO rule:
d) Position players will have their split numbers reset to their overall numbers if they meet the following requirements:
    a. Less than 60 at bats vs. either LHP or RHP, and
    b. At least .300 batting average vs. that type of pitcher, or
    c. OPS of at least .700 vs. that type of pitcher, and
    d. Batting average .050 points higher or OPS .100 higher vs. that type of pitcher

A new method is suggested to reset batters who fall into the above category.  The current method consists of modifying the batter table vs. LHP and vs. RHP to match the overall batting average.  This method of resetting hitters does not work.  The splits are determined by an internal event table that cannot be seen.  There is however, a method of resetting hitters that will work.

For each hitter that needs to be reset, the following steps will work:
1.  Organizer > Players >
2.  Right click on the player and choose Modify > Batting Event Table
3.  For Creation Method, choose Overall and click OK
4.  The overall stats for the player are displayed, and click ok

This player now has no LH/RH splits used in the game.  They will still show on the screen, but will not be used.  Only the overall stats are used to determine the results.

As a test, I used Nate Schierholtz at the leadoff hitter for the entire 168 game simmed schedule.
Real Stats:  vs LHP .500 (18 AB), vs RHP .266 (94 AB), .279 Overall
Simmed with no reset:  vs LHP .355, vs RHP .265, .292 Overall
Simmed with reset:  vs LHP .218, vs RHP .300, .279 Overall

Nobody claimed Redneck or Ambrose, so I will now contact some others and send some emails out looking for replacements. If you know anyone please let me know. The San Juan Tsunami agree to trade their 2010 2nd and 3rd round picks
to Da Bums in exchange for I.Snell, L.Overbay, and BUM 2009 4th and
7th round picks. Jim will confirm the deal.
