Hidey-ho, biker buddies!
It's time to kick it in gear and get back in the saddle. We've got a GREAT ride
program designed to bring you from couch potato shape to peak performance for
the HCRA 2004 in April.
We're starting our 2004 HCRA Training Rides with the South MoPac Loop this
Saturday, January 17. This loop is an excellent, almost flat training route with
a very wide shoulder and and clear road. Used by all types of cyclists year
round, it allows riders to practice repetitive trials of the 8-mile loop for
speed or endurance--or tack on an extra 3 miles at the Bicycle Veloway next
door!
Leaving from Kiker Elementary School, 5913 LaCrosse Ave., PROMPTLY at 11:00 a.m.
Come early at 10:30 a.m.for the mini-clinic aimed at new riders. This week's
topic will be "Basic Bike Gear." Otherwise, meet at 10:45 a.m. to ride out at
11:00 a.m. sharp!
Come on out for the "Cocoa Social and Shoal Creek Loop" on Sunday, January 25.
This in-town loop features easy, flat riding for new riders. It also has plenty
of strait-a-ways for practicing sprints. Leaving from a special location, 4615
Ramsey (north of 45th St.), the home of our host Jason Marth.
Come early at 10:00 a.m.for cocoa and a mini-clinic aimed at new riders. This
week's topic will be "Tips for Cold Weather Riding." Otherwise, meet at 10:45
a.m. to ride out at 11:00 a.m. sharp! Any questions? Feel free to call Ted
Smith, 627-0951
