II. EVENTS
A. Society Events Defined
The term "Society event" refers to tournaments, feasts, and other
activities whereby participants can display the results of their
researches into the culture and technology of the period in an
environment which evokes the atmosphere of the pre-17th century
European Middle Ages and Renaissance. It also refers to
educational activities involving either one-time classes or
ongoing Society university organizations, and meetings where
participants share skills or discuss the business of the group.

So "informal group sponsored events" would be things like
meetings, fight practice, A&S night, picnic or pot luck dinner
... as opposed to more formal events like Ice Dragon or Gold
Chain Tourney (the ones that have fees). All "events", formal and
informal, are all covered by SCA insurance
Anything that you do in the privacy of your own back yard is your
business... and your risk.
Hope this helps

combat policy meeting
Greetings:
I saw this phrase:
This restriction forbids rattan practice or fighting by minors at
any SCA event, including informal group sponsored gatherings and
practices [emphesis added]
Please define: informal group sponsored
Thanks
