At a similar time, also through Jim Baldwin, the UAE offered to sponsor
Swanton Pacific. I felt it was not something I wanted to accept. It just
had a bad taste to it, somehow. I get instinctive reactions to some things
that are so strong, I would be a fool to ignore them.
