Well now that I have sent a private e-mail to everyone (if you didn't receive one it's because I don't have your e-mails so send it to me please), I want to go public and thank all the 55 players that attended this years MTL Classic 3. To does who chose, or who had reasons not to be there, we missed you and hope to see you next year or somewhere along the Hockey Sur Table Quebec schedual.
This was the thoughest one yet. You don't beleive me, all I have to say is that Dave Kraehling won, the "B" division that is!!!! If that dosn't say it all I don't know what will.
You can go to: http://www.mtlcoleco.hockeysurtablequebec.com/ for details and scores which will be completed by tomorrow. There you will see all the scores of each game and you will see that Dave was not victim of a thougher divison or anything of that nature, the simple fact is that this
event had the best players in North America under 1 roof, only Angelo (for reasons we know) and Kenny who had to cancel were missing.
I have to thank everyone for arriving on time and for letting me be able to start at 10:30 sharp as was announced.
For a tournament of this magnetude to run as smootly as it did a general needs to have good soldier's to make it happen. Well, let me tell you, I was not missing any, at least 15-18 people chipped in whether it was to run their pools, help with stats, place the tables, help with the food, decorations, web, pics, etc etc. These guys are an organizers paradise and for that I am very grateful.
Little arguments here and there (normal in the heat of the action) but nothing disgraceful and everything went as smooth as can be.
The raffle ticket winner was chosen by Alain Gamche's lovely daughter. She Picked Greg Peden's name out and
just like a good, Habs, Leafs game, you heard the applause and the boosss, it was quite funny, we had a good laugh.
Greg already had a Leafs board at home (a Labelle) and now left with a Habs Carleco with Leafs and Habs players. Other winners included, Burt Brassard, Eric Larochelle, Sid Kloosterman, Enrico Massecchia, just to mention a few who had choisis between signed pictures of Buffalo Sabres players, Irwin Toys and packs of 3 boxes or Oreo cookies as we had some left overs.
Thanks you to everyone who participated in the raffle and to does who didn't no hard feelings really, the simple fact that you all show up is more than enough and I truly mean this.
With the raffle we were able to have a 100$ surplus that went in the Hockey Sur Table Quebec funds and add to that 4$ of each of the 55 participants which also goes there and this adds another 220$ to the previouse 100$ mentioned.
This will help pay the Series boards, logo, Throphy, Web Page fees, etc etc and we will keep adding stuff as the events continue, all hoping and this the most important thing of them all, that people keep coming out to play with us. I think we have a good thig going here and I sincerly hope others feel it to.
Once agian thanks for choosing Montreal, I hope it was all you expected and more and see you all and more next year.
PS: many people across variouse discussion boards have writen about their respective experiences. I love reading this as many others do as well I am sure. Keep them coming, and if it is negative for some reason, please share as well through forums or by private e-mail, whatever you chose.
I will share my experience of my run and things I witnessed around me (variouse different games) in the coming days.
Ciao
