I absolutely disagree with Six’s comments that it is only Harriet’s responsibility for having protected SEX.
This is the same BULLSHIT we hear in the general media.. blame one of the party who is involved.
If one of the party is aware of one’s the “MEDICAL” condition then it is that party’s RESPONSIBILITY to be careful and open about the condition.
As Six pontificates ::
Put more simply: How fucking stupid do you have to be to be having UNPROTECTED sex at a drunk-fest with someone you barely know, and then claim you "trusted him"?!
Hmmm... I guess that question is answered right here... you just have to be a Harriett.
[DISCLAIMER: The above statement was made for the sake of conveying a point in an emphatic display. It in no way is intended to suggest that all Harriettes are stupid bimbos. Some of them aren't.]
On another note, I'd like to hear the conversation that took place at the time that all three bimbos... er, I mean "women" were sitting around unanimously admitting to having herpes and sleeping with the same alleged viral distributor. That sure blows my fantasy of what women talk about when they get together, just before they break into the pillow fight in their underwear.
.....
Again I pontificate that If one of the party is aware of one’s the “MEDICAL” condition then it is that party’s RESPONSIBILITY to be careful and open about the condition.

Six,
This may be the opportunety you've been waiting for... You can start marketing Hash Condoms! Have them available at all the Hashes... Put the various hash logos on them... I figure Latex is just up your alley! You might be able to retire early after all!
Go for it!

Date: Thursday, March 12, 2009, 2:52 PMFrankly, ostracizing someone on an email list is not only bullshit, but may have legal implications.
It's really not the business of individuals who are not directly involved (nor perhaps those who are directly involved) to slander someone online, or anywhere else (Unless it's Stray Dog, then it's sorta ok).
While our little Hash "family" might be a tight-knit one, this crap of people sticking their noses in other people's fucking business (literally) is going too far too fast.
It's recently happened in my hash, and it happens in a lot of hashes (and in non-hash communities).
I have a serious bone to pick with a couple people in my hash, which is about to come to a head (HEAD?! Who said...?), but I'm keeping it between us, not publishing it to the world. I'm putting my foot down and calling "bullshit" here, and I think the people involved in the situation discussed herein should do the same. (To clarify, that's "bullshit" to the slander and accusations and gossip and nose-prodding, not"bullshit" as to whether it's true or not).
The women (and I use that term as loosely as they use their private parts) are all grown up (I'm assuming so, lest their problems may be even greater), and have grown up in a time and place where it has been made abundantly clear the possibilities and ramifications of unprotected sex. Those women are 1) Idiots for having unprotected sex, 2) Very LUCKY that the only thing contracted was a benign virus (don't think worse can happen to you? Ask me about a very good straight friend of mine who lives with taking piles of HIV meds everyday), 3) Responsible for their own actions, stupidity, and vaginas. Er, vaginae.
Yes, perhaps the guy is an ass, too. Or perhaps he is just naive or uneducated. Or maybe he's also an idiot. I doubt, though, that he's malicious. Or, maybe he is. But nonetheless, he's not as at fault as the people who didn't take responsibility for themselves.
Put more simply: How fucking stupid do you have to be to be having UNPROTECTED sex at a drunk-fest with someone you barely know, and then claim you "trusted him"?!

Today I learned that a good hasher friend of mine contracted herpes from another hasher. They met at a recent hash event and, as often happens at events, they slept together. This wasn't just a fly by night situation though, as she actually flew down to see him a few weeks afterward and they spent the weekend together. He never once told her he had this incurable disease nor did he ever offer to wear a condom. This was no accident. This is the 4th hasher he has infected! He had full knowledge of his disease before having a lot of unprotected sex with this girl.
Hashers! I have always been proud of our hasher world where our connections will warn each other about people like this or people that are in our group that can harm us. The three previous girls are just as guilty keeping silent! WARN OTHERS! Why protect people like this??? You can sit there and blame her for not insisting on using protection, but I believe a 39 year old guy who has a disease should be fully responsible. He is old enough to say something and let her either use protection or opt out. She trusted him. A lot of girls do this.
Please pass this to any group list you can and get this message out. We need to be reminded of how we should watch out for one another. And I surely hope this message gets all the way back toto the LUMP of Shit that did this. Colorado
P.S. Yes this is a true story. I would not waste your time if it was not.P.P.S. No the story is NOT about me.
