PORTLAND, Maine (AP) -- Charlie Zink tossed six shutout innings and Brandon Moss drove in the game's only run with a sacrifice fly as the Portland S-ea Dogs beat the New Bri-tain Rock Cats 1-0 Monday in the Eastern League.
The victory extended Portland's winning streak to five and set a franchise record for opening a season.
After three scoreless innings, Portland (5-0) loaded the bases with three singles, by Jared Sandberg, Jeremy West and David Murphy. Then Sandberg scampered home when Moss lofted a flyout to deep leftfield.

Zink (1-0) kept control of his knuckleball and off-speed pitches, allowing only four hits and no walks over six innings. Danny Matienzo and Doug Deeds knocked doubles for the Rock Cats, but both were stranded on base.
Phil Devey, Talley Haines and Cla Meredith combined to preserve Portland's second consecutive team shutout. Meredith notched his third save.
New Britain starter Matt Yeatman (0-1) took the loss.
