Doug Deeds' two-run homer in the eighth inning helped the New Britain Rock Cats to a 5-4 victory over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats Friday night in Manchester, N.H.
Deeds' homer capped a three-run rally in the eighth as New Britain (2-0) rallied from a 4-2 deficit. Selwyn Langaigne added two hits, including a two-run homer that put the Rock Cats ahead 2-0 in the top of the third.
Ricky Barrett earned the win for New Britain, pitching a scoreless seventh and striking out three. Pat Neshek got the save, allowing one hit in two scoreless innings, walking one and striking out three.
