Doug Deeds' two-run homer in the eighth inning helped the New Britain Rock Cats to a 5-4 victory over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats Friday night in Manchester, N.H.

 

Deeds' homer capped a three-run rally in the eighth as New Britain (2-0) rallied from a 4-2 deficit. Selwyn Langaigne added two hits, including a two-run homer that put the Rock Cats ahead 2-0 in the top of the third.
 
Ricky Barrett earned the win for New Britain, pitching a scoreless seventh and striking out three. Pat Neshek got the save, allowing one hit in two scoreless innings, walking one and striking out three.

 

Kevin Barker led New Hampshire (0-2) with three hits and three RBI, including a two-run double in the third.

 

Jordan De Jong took the loss for New Hampshire, allowing three runs on two hits in the final two innings. Starter Josh Banks went five innings, giving up two runs on six hits and striking out two.
