Reading had quite an exciting time of it against Trenton last night. In the
sixth Pat Burrell hit a grand slam propelling the R-Phils to a comfortable
lead. Burrell has developed into a pretty good first baseman and a real
fine hitter.

During the bottom of the eighth, catcher Andy Stewart was ejected from the
game for illegal grooves in his bat. Now that's one I find hard to take.
Given the hard time Stewart has had staying in the line-up this year, I
truly doubt he'd doctor his bat! Will have to wait and see how the league
responds to the incident.
