Hi All!
I'm glad to this list up and running. I've been a baseball fan all my
life and have started to get into the Minors in the past few years.
There's a definate feeling about AA Ball, since you get a great talent
pool playing at a great level, friendly crowds and great atomphere.
Also, they play in some fantastic ballparks!
Since I currently live near Washington, DC, we're fortunate to have the
Bowie Baysox from the Eastern League. Last year, I attended my first
Baysox game at Prince George's Stadium against Reading and enjoyed
myself immensely. It was what I expected since the only other minor
league game I've ever been to was a California League game in Lake
Elsinore. I was amazed at the level of play, combined with true heart,
that I saw that night.
The teams I do follow are the Harrisburg Senators and Reading Phillies
as well as the Baysox.
The one thing that I've been curious about the minors are the
relationship the team has with the community. I know that in cities,
such as Harrisburg, Chattanooga and Portland that the team is beloved
in their community, so the question lies along with the team's
"closeness" with the community they represent.
Any thoughts on this subject?
Anyway...hope to hear more about this list...TTYAL! "Play Ball!"
