Dave Borkowski pitched four shutout innings and Eddy Rodriguez got his 13th save of the season as the Bowie Baysox beat the Altoona Curve 4-3 in the Eastern League Saturday night in Bowie, Md.
Borkowski (6-7) gave up five hits and one run in his seven innings on the mound for the Baysox (66-68). Rodriguez, who allowed one run and two hits, pitched in the ninth inning, holding off a comeback by the Curve.
Scoring ended for Altoona (73-58) after Brett Roneberg came home on a fielding error. Three players were left on base when the inning ended on a caught fly ball.
Bowie's Ivanon Coffie hit a solo homer in the seventh to make the score 4-1.
Roneberg got the Curve its first score of the night by hitting a homer to led off the fifth inning.
Sean Burnett (13-6) took the loss. He gave up four hits and three runs in six innings.
Richmond 8, Durham 4: At Richmond, Va., Nick Green and Adam LaRoche hit two-run homers as the Braves pummeled the International League's leader in earned run average and beat the Bulls.
Durham's Carlos Reyes (10-3) allowed 11 hits and eight runs in four innings.
