My name's Anna. Been here for a while, but this is my first time writing an
e-mail to the list (sorry).

Anyway, maybe I have the solution for the site's problem. Me myself have a
site at Tripod, and also a gallery kind of site. The site consists about 500+
pictures. But I haven't had any problems (yet). That's because I use
thumbnails then linked it with the real pix. So maybe the 2 Sexy Footballers
site could use thumbnails. You can make thumbnails by shrinking the size of
the pix, and convert it into an 8-bit pix (usually the JPEG is in 24-bit),
then save it on GIF format. It saves a lot of bytes (it could shrink till 90%
from the real pix). It also saves a lot of bandwidth thingies Tripod been
fussling about.

Another suggestion maybe...a frame lay-out. You can have the title (2 Sexy
Footballers...) and the menu loads only once, that would save some bandwidth
also.

That's all I guess. I hope this could be usefull for the webmistress. I would
really love to see the site up and running again. It's one of my favorite
sites, y'know. =)

for a friend. Could you get a new host and continue it? It was a
fantastic site.

No se importe por no escribir en el grupo o club! La verdad es que
con el final de nuestro sitio, perdemos las fuerzas y la motivación
de proseguir mantenendo los clubs y el grupo y, por eso, casi no
postamos tambien... sinceramente, solo estamos en internet 2 o 3
veces por mes... Imagine el cuanto es dificil para 2 personas que
havian un sitio super visitado y actualizado ahora tener que mantener
solamente clubes y grupo... es mismo muy dificil para nosotras!

Bem... o q houve com o site foi complicado...
Recebemos visitas demais para um site caseiro feito apenas no modo
GRÁTIS e isso excedeu nosso limite de transferência de dados.
Na  hora até pensamos em criar outras"filiais" como vc mencionou, mas
seria tudo uma qusetão de tempo pra esse problema voltar a acontecer,
visto que receberíamos mais e mais visitas, à medida q novos
jogadores fossem adicionados.
esse problema tem conserto! Nós é não podemos fazer nada...
Qdo isso ocorre com um site, é só o webmaster pagar por cotas
adicionais de transferencia de dados. Como usuarias grátis, temos
direito a 1gb. No caso precisaríamos de 5gb. A tripod e todos os
outros site hosts vendem, mas não pagaríamos jamais por isso, ainda
que custasse 1 real... Temos vários motivos pra isso...
1- não concordamos em pagar para ter um site, visto que para nós ele
é diversão e ñ um negócio
2- não temos como pagar
3- sequer possuímos cartão
4- já colocamos em nossa cabeça que terminou, apesar de doloroso...

Bem, diante de tantos problemas... desistimos mesmo. Até apagamos as
quase 200 fotos que tínhamos para o update. Acabou mesmo. Amiga, a
gente sofre até hoje! Foi muito carinho, dedicação e esforço sem
nenhum fim lucrativo; apenas diversão mesmo! O mais triste foi que o
site sequer completou 1 aninho...
Mas... fazer o que?!
Só podemos dizer que foi bom enquanto durou, certo?

Oi meninas,
Desculpem a ausencia durante tanto tempo, mas é que eu estive fazendo
umas provas pra lá de esquistias, imaginem só o tema: os pontos
essenciais da literatura francesca na primera metade da idade média.
Absurdo né? Enfim, além disso eu tive vários problemas como meu
computadpor e tudo mais. Dias atrás eu até tinha enviado um email pra
vcs perguntando justamente sobre esses problemas que estavam
ocorrendo com o site. Nossa mas que pena, fiquei super triiste, gora
eu tenho que descobrir quais são as 4 hs em que ele está no ar para
visitá-lo. Vcs já pensaram em fazer uma filial para tirar a sobre
carga? Ou vcs já estão cansadas e não querem mais saber? Realmente
fiquei triste...um grande beijo,
