Re: [2nalsa] Mini Yacht Specs.....

I thought one of the mini yacht folks would reply...they can correct me if I misinform:
The rules: http://www.nalsa.org/Minirules.htm
The classes were designed so existing small yachts would fit into one of the classes, so both factory "boats," modified factory boats and one-of-a-kind craft can and do race. In general all the mini classes run together.
Some of the most popular landsailers fit and can compete in mini classes. All classes together (including Mantas and Blokarts) there are definitely more small boats than large in the landsailing world although Mantas and BKs usually run in one-design classes  at events where those classes exist.

The Mini yachts you are sailing are the mainly purchased yachts or home built construction?
And is there a set of size specifications that these yachts are built to?
And are they raced together or as seperate classes or groups?
Are Mini yachts a popular size or do people prefer to sail much larger yachts?

Given that there appears to be no 'one design' NALSA rule, when do the Mantas and Blokarts run as a one design? Is it a decision taken per event or does there...
